He does more damage than Psyker, has way better survivability, and is also much more well-rounded overall.
And please don’t bring up the “but Ogryn needs ammo” argument anymore. After all the buffs Fatshark has given him, his ammo economy is honestly ridiculous. You can get 50% ammo back from your ability, Lucky Bullet procs don’t consume ammo, you regenerate 1% every 15 seconds, and on top of that you can still benefit from Veteran’s ammo aura. Unless you’re literally holding down left click nonstop for the entire mission, ammo really isn’t the issue people make it out to be anymore.
The damage is even more absurd.
By the time a Psyker is still trying to stack Soulblaze, the Ogryn has already blown up everything in front of him. Psyker used to at least have the advantage in horde clear, but now Ogryn can do the same job while getting his damage out much faster.
Then you get to Carapace enemies, elites and bosses, and the gap gets even worse. Psyker has never been especially great at dealing with heavily armored targets and bosses, while Ogryn barely struggles with any of them. Horde clear, elites, Carapace, bosses, survivability, crowd control — he can handle pretty much everything extremely well.
And when one class can erase basically everything before the rest of the team even gets a chance to interact with it, that starts seriously hurting the experience for everyone else.
I genuinely cannot understand why Fatshark felt the need to buff Ogryn over and over again. The class did not need this much help, and now they’ve created a monster.
I seriously hope Fatshark tones him down soon, because this has gone way past Ogryn simply being “strong.” At this point, he’s starting to make other classes feel redundant.
