Rotten Armor is *brutal*

This was an Auric Shock Troop Gauntlet version of the event. Team composition Veteran/Arbites (dogless)/Psyker (me)/Zealot. The numbers are a bit disingenuous - this was a full team effort and everyone pitched in their best, and we won after a half-hour of pain in Aegis Station.

Good fun, had a blast, immediately closed the game after to cool off.

My buddies and I did x3 duos of this modifier last night. Games took like 35m a piece. Didn’t seem much different than CIVI Maelstrom plus being blinded tbh.

Yeah this is my biggest issue with the modifier. I really wish Fatshark put gameplay, visual and audio CLARITY over their artistic “vision”. I’m pretty tired of this brown up brown / grey upon grey colour palette, all blending into one big mass of goo, and I’m not colour blind afaik. Visuals and audio clearly overload players, and the audio engine alike.

Otherwise the modifier is fun, you get more heavy armour assault teams applying pressure.

It’s been great fun of all flavors.

Watching overconfident arbies fold at first contact as they finally (hopefully) learned that grouping up might actually be a decent idea.

Popping these event elites into clouds of acid gas akin to the satisfying coin bonk of a mario game.

The actual juice the event brings making them better than Maels at the moment, requiring occasional back tracks and !strategic positioning play!

The armor stat mods throwing some builds for a loop, much to peoples’ chagrin.

The genuine team play it forces when people see they can’t get away with shite they’re used to.

Enjoy it while it lasts. We know what happens when the event ends…

I don’t know about that team play, but it forces you to move so you can actually see. Well as long as you have space to move.

Rotten Armor and Cranial Parasites are “Havoc modifiers” done right. One of the best events in terms of game design IMO. The Obelisk thing was pretty good.

Is that the one where they explode and throw you when you pop em?

If so, agreed, they are fun flavor packets to add to our Darktide ramen.

But I actually like blight spreads so no one should listen to me ever.

I am red-green colourblind and it has been pretty rough. The change of Crushers to brown with green has been the worst part of it. My brain struggled to register them; until it does that they might as well have not even existed so far as my head was concerned. I dipped my toe in Heresy, as I’d been away from the game for a few weeks besides the odd mission here and there, and found how nasty it was immediately with the packs of Crushers suddenly appearing on the battlefield, not like they’re there by magic, more a how in the name of the God-Emperor did I not see them?!

When you’re trying to comprehend everything that is happening, with all the quick animations from multiple enemies, the cacophony of noise my brain is sorting through, keeping an eye on the team members and so on, whilst there are explosions of green across the screen, it becomes really hard to understand what I need to do. It is like the brain is swimming through thick slurry and the sudden appearance of brown-green Crushers in a horde cause just a little pressure and a spot of panic.

Mind you, and this might surprise you, the Inferno event was far worse. Whilst in this one I only have to deal with recoloured Maulers, Ragers, and Crushers, in the Inferno one everything was orange-red or cloaked by darkness. Seriously, I hated that. Normally I play event modifiers after I’m done, as entertainment with the change up they bring. But Inferno and this one? I stopped as soon as I was done with both.

And there was me congratulating myself a couple of months ago for fighting through the Pox Gas missions penance and not having to do it again …

Modifiers putting players in their place. Kite or die. Very fun when the team comes together, Very brutal when players split.

They should try my shield, hold the line forceful build. I stun lock entire packs of them.

Dash, shield flash, regen grenade or dog blitz and repeat.

Hold the line needs increased cooldown.

Break the Line, but yeah. That’s what I’ve been running on arb since the others are broken. It’s very fun with this event and knocking a dense pack on their ass in front of a psyker seeing his beloved flash before his eyes feels epic.

Break the line, yeah. I couldn’t quite remember the name, but that makes a lot more sense xD

It’s the most fun for me. I also prefer fury zealot and bull rush Ogryn.

Basically those are the only classes and builds I play now.

Given that FS puts little references in talent nodes (Street Smarts!) and penances, I remember it since I assume it’s a nod to cops breaking up a picket or riot line.

Regarding nerfing the cooldown, I think I like it where it is.
But I think, esp with cop as is, the damage buff isn’t necessary (and i forgot it did so for a while). just let it be a supreme CC tool (like I think most of his kit was supposed to be) or put that on a modifer as well.
