I can’t agree more on this one. There needs to be a vote to create a fireteam at the end of the match.
Locks are heresy.
Just jumping back in to say that I finally landed Damnation + Hi-Int + Specialists and it was awesome. Now everything else sucks.
Thanks, I guess.
lol basically. They at least challenge meta teams.
Im addicted to it too
Odds of success are slim especially since I’m in public games only but I always enjoy it. Its some hardcore training too normal Hi5 seems so much easier to me now.
Have you won a Damnation + Hi-Int + Specialists yet?
Playing VT2 again I remembered Elite enemies being a threat and not giant meatsacks with crushers and bulwarks doing their 3 stooges routine while shotgunners filet you from behind the wall of fat.
I did get that T4 Haymaker but its on an extremely spicy Basher and I really like this dumpy trashstick. Guess I’m gonna have to hope for another one.
Not much to add. I agree completely.
I’m not sure if I’m alone but I just want to do away with the entire looter shooter nonsense. I hate having hundreds of guns in my inventory that I have to sit and compare. It’s not fun. It’s not fun here, it’s not fun in Diablo, it’s not fun in Borderlands, and it’s not fun in The Division.
Give me one gun of each type. Let me upgrade the gun with materials. Allow mission rewards to be rare materials depending on difficulty level that allow me to create slottable perks, blessings, and attachments (weapon attachments like CoD you know, which DT is not… or something). A bit like Winds of Magic.
This system can be made with so that there is something to progress towards in between missions… but rather than spending money on yet another piece of gear that you have to sit and compare with dozens of others (fun… yeah… hooray…) let me just upgrade and tinker with my gun. Do quests to make my personal gun better. The one that is mine. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I agree with you tbh. I don’t like having to manage a bunch of items and compare numbers and have that count as progression.
What sucks is that in Winds of Magic for VT2, the one thing that everyone pretty much unanimously agreed on was that the weapon progression in that was good. Like, really good. There were lots of complaints about the rest of the DLC, but the weapon stuff was great.
Fatshark literally had the blueprint for what people liked. They knew that people liked it. And then proceeded to ignore it completely. This company baffles me.
I haven’t managed to get through one yet. I’ve only been lucky enough to get it 2 or 3 times and I play with randos.
It’s awesome though. It’s just non-stop all the way. Stop focusing for a second and it’s a wipe. It does make regular T5 feel like a cakewalk though
It’s a great blueprint. WoM maxed out the weapons really quickly and I get they don’t want that, but have unique stuff for each weapon type that you can work towards. Make some exotic material hard to get, require quest chains… deep dives… speed runs… something. There is so much to expand here and make better.
… but what we have is not it.
Yeah it would definitely need to be expanded upon to work for a full game, but it’s right there.
I’m definitely starting to think that FS knows that this system is garbage, it’s just the only thing that they could make within a couple months because something went very wrong during development, and they had to sht something out quick. There’s just…no way that anyone comes up with this nonsense after all the “lessons” that they supposedly learned from VT 1 & 2. I mean hell, pretty much everything here directly contradicts many things they said during that dev blog about crafting so something def. went wrong and we’re left with this garbage.
I’ve won a few now it really depends on everyone sticking together and staying in coherency watching each others backs but sometimes the ai still wins with something filthy. For some reason that doesn’t tilt me though just makes me laugh with how crazy it was.
I think it brings out the best in the people who play this game and its forcing the teamwork the devs wanted (I think) more than anything else ive seen so far.
This part of the game is great, and a wipe due to bad luck is fine. I like losing too. Many good games have this (FTL, Hades, Hitman Freelancer,…). When losing is fun your game is good.
I love the core gameplay of Darktide. The missions themselves. They got that really well.
Yeh if you just roll over everything all the time it would get boring I think.
Coming up with fun modifiers for the missions and expanding the missions available is how they give this game a longer life span I think.
We roll over things in Vermintide too, people play it especially because if you get a build going and you are good with the mechanics. It is an excellent power fantasy and the combat works well.
With darktide its same and I firmly believe if you removed stupid difficulty - shotgunners.
And transfered it to melee - stormvermin blob variant.
Then people would wipe in melee and they would know they made a mistake
INSTEAD
Of dying to silent random spawn shotgunner that deletes your toughness (unless you are 75% DR veteran) and then health
Honestly DT is now in the early V2 balance, ranged is king and going into melee is suboptimal.
Pull out flamers to deal with hordes, bolter to kill everything flamer doesnt. If they get close spam regenerating nades.
HI damnation like this is easy
We where talking about Damnation + Hi-Int + Specialists.
Even if you had that comp every time you pub this difficulty and condition (I have not seen it once yet since I started playing) it wont work. If you made a private team with your bolter flamer comp I would like to see a video of you clearing it like that. I reckon you would run out of ammo.
The power sword would come out every single game no matter what I guarantee it. If you make a private team and clear it like that record it and post it here I would be interested to see.
Good luck.
This makes the most sense to me. So much of this game feels like a rush job (you cannot convince me that most of the menus and UI aren’t placeholders), so many choices seem like no thought was put into how one system might interact with another (RNG hub casino), the premium shop feels more like a desperate cash grab targeting whales exclusively rather than something any casual player would ever want to interact with. Something bad happened during development that resulted in these systems. If anybody at FS thinks the game is in good shape right now, I don’t believe them.
The monkey’s paw strikes again. I too favor getting my face beat in by an absolute swarm of lunatic hard sweaty palm gameplay that doesn’t involve more enemy HP. God i hate bullet sponges.
Shocktroop gauntlet hi int is preem
This is how I feel. After a run or two its simply not engaging to continue. There is nothing to do and nothing seems of value. Not having stats or a scoreboard, or a way to understand your impact during a mission makes me phone in missions and think “whats the point?”
Ill come back when the Chaos Spawn shows up
You mean the treadmill of perfect weapons, that are impossible to obtain doesn’t engage you to see their hidden potential?
