Should FatShark really fear backlash for nerfing the Dueling Sword and other overpowered weapons?

I heard people claim that FS does not want to nerf overpowered weapons because the Asian players will review bomb the game and as proof they mention a leak, that happened on the Chinese Steam which had nerfs for the Dueling Sword and the Plasma Gun. They suggested that a mere suggestion of nerfing the outliers caused a very impactful reaction from the Asian playerbase. This is a classic case of data not telling the whole story. The game had just recently clawed back to mostly positive reviews before the leaked patch notes and ensuing review bomb took it back to mixed with no other major changes at the time to actually cause such negative reaction. The big thing your data doesn’t capture is the influx, perhaps even worthy of calling it an invasion, of Asian players to these very forums whining and wailing about the nerf proposals with some of the most asinine…
