Psyker shield (the square one) fails to materialize on the first press of the button sometimes

When using the square psyker shield it fails to materialize on the first press on the button in many instances, you need to press several times . In the higher difficulties there are plenty of situations where this will result in death when either the shooters you try to protects from guns you down or the constant following of melee minions cave your brain in.
Its a very fun superhero ability that have saved many runs but at the moment I have some trust issues.
