Psyker Play Flow Chart

Since I see a bunch of people talking about how bad the Psyker is, I made this for helping you with how to use each weapon a Psyker has at their disposal. May expand to include feats and more info in the future. Let me know if there is anything you would like added as well.

I’ve only used google docs a little bit, but it looks like only one staff is here. Says click to change but doesn’t seem to work, though I’m humble about that and might be doing it wrong, or you might be joking and saying only the flame staff is worth it and I’m missing it.

That said, I really miss the big push the force sword used to have in beta. That was epic. I want that back. Makes me sad to lose it. Also think the aim on the push needs explaining a little better, sometimes you knock someone flat, sometimes it does nothing.

Psyker just feels like everything about him just needs to be a little better… just a little but across the board. You can play it at any level, but it’s frustrating and a lot less fun post nerf.

EDIT:

I worked it out. For anyone still looking, down at the bottom Sheet1 >Copyto >New sheet

It’s locked to prevent editing. I have listed at the top to make a copy to edit. I’ll add your method in as well. The push is there it’s just half the impact value of beta (hence it’s now two pushes to stagger bulwark vs one). As to why it does nothing that deals with the impact value and stagger resistance. A subject I am still exploring.

I think it has something to do with aim/distance. Also unsure if scales with peril (with and without perks.)

I was testing this a little in meat grinder, and if I was too close, it would do nothing, too far, nothing, looking a little to the side, nothing, looked right at, nothing, but if I aim a little above or below at exactly the right range, it would knock a rager off his feet.

It feels wonky, especially as the snap is kind of wide angle, as was the old push.

I made this video at the time, but it could be a lot better, was in a hurry with it.

EDIT: Looks like they fixed the ‘too close’ problem. Still hard to tell just where your range ends though. TBH my test just now makes it look like it got a buff, but it could use a bigger one, ideally much bigger.

:joy: :joy:

the staffs are too weak for me so i use guns instead

Follow up on the push issue. I just recorded this.

Of specific note is that the snap distance is longer then the push distance, and the snap does push a tiny bit.

So the result is the guy you wanted to hard push might be moved out of range by the snap mini-push, or might be effected by the snap but be out of range for the push.

Feels like the push should be a cone that gradually deminishes like the ult push. I’d like to see it maybe 70% of the current ult and the ult back to where it was in beta, which was about 180% of where it is now.

class is so bad that you need a flow chart to be able to be subpar compared to the ohers ;D

Nope, just some of us so bad they need a clear guidelines how not to write yet another rant about how “underpowered” the psyker class is. As it is now there is plenty of util for the psyker and fun to be had. All you have to do is choose a semi-decent build and get better at the game.

cope harder xD

Don’t play psyker then, it’s a waste of a player slot without a staff.

Loved It, ty

There’s an arguement that BB remains a useful utility skill on higher difficulties even if you’re not using a force staff alongside it.

But in general, I agree that Psyker is best with a force staff to bring something unique to the team.

staff is useless so psyker is always useless then

meh, this is bait, but okay. The Trauma is pretty good. Blows up most enemies with arms and legs flying, staggers the rest. Flame staff is like the zealot flamer but way more agile, the void boom is a grenade launcher, and the taser tases. Taser staff can stop a mutant in it’s tracks, or almost anything else.

Granted, I really want a chain lightning staff with a big thick meaty…bolt… that chains between enemies and cooks them down to their sneakers. Not this frizzy lightning that sort of pretends to chain but really it’s just sith lightning… but a big heavy bolt. Prob won’t get it. Prob go full Felicia soon, but still, some hope remains.
