Before anything is said, the devs have access to more data than most of us do so it’s worth mentioning these suggestions are just based on the most commonly mentioned Talents I’ve seen on the Forum here. I don’t claim to be an expert on game balance by any means, but with over 1k hours in this game - most of them Psyker - I’d hope there’s some merit to the following suggestions.
Here are a few nerf suggestions based on the most commonly brought up Talents:
Warp Unbound
Scrier’s Gaze now also prevents overloading from Perils of the Warp, during its lingering effect. During this effect, your Warp attacks inflict Toughness Damage. Gained Toughness Damage is 25% of the Peril that would have been generated by any attacks.
Insane damage output = high risk for damage taken. Arguably the biggest offender of balance for Scrier’s Gaze. This simple change could restore the “glass” to Psyker’s “glass cannon”, without taking away from Warp Unbound’s gift to staff Psykers in that they can actually use Scrier’s without instantly nuking themselves.
Scrier’s Gaze
Triggers Scrier’s Gaze. When entering Scrier’s Gaze you Quell 50% Peril as well as gain +20% Critical Chance, +20% Stamina Regeneration, +20% Dodge Recovery and Suppression Immunity.
For every second in Scrier’s Gaze you gain +1% Damage up to a maximum of +30%. This effect lingers for 10s after leaving Scrier’s Gaze.
While in Scrier’s Gaze you build up Peril. Build- up is temporarily slowed down by enemy Kills. At 100% Peril, Scrier’s Gaze ends.
20% TDR and 2.5% Toughness every second, when combined with Psyker’s very generous toughness regen options at the top of the tree, seemingly Psyker into a tank.
Perhaps it would be much more interesting to have Psyker regen Stamina and Dodges at a faster rate during Scrier’s Gaze? That could raise the requirement for damage reduction during Psyker’s most offensively focused ability a bit, while still allowing Psyker to be safe enough to engage in melee during Scrier’s.
Purgatus
Perhaps get rid of Blaze Away? Uncanny Strike no longer applies to DoTs? These two, when combined effectively allow Soulblaze to ignore armor, which doesn’t make sense on a weapon that is already superb at horde clear.
Perilous Combustion
Killing an Elite or a Specialist Enemy applies 6 stack(s) of Soulblaze to nearby non Elite/Specialist Enemies, causing Damage over time.
Really it seems PC is only bad when large groups of weak Specs/Elites are killed in rapid succession, turning PC into an exponential inferno that just melts everything as the PC Soulblaze stacks consume other Elites/Specs. If there was a way to just have the Soulblaze stacks apply to horde chaff it would solve much of PC’s issues. Doing so could also allow stacks to be raised to 6, allowing for better chaff clear.
Soulblaze stacks also trigger Kinetic Flayer, more reason to just have PC only target chaff enemies if possible.
