I wonder, if this will ever be adressed but lately it maddens me too much.
How’s it possible that the biggest, strongest and tallest Character in this games has the most issues jumping over handrails?
Every baseline humy just jumps fluently over them, but not the Ogryn, who should literally be able to just step over them.
I will not lie, but this really caused some downs on me …
Why is it?
Will it be adressed?
Do I have to git gut?
if you stick around too long and get downed, the gameplay aspect i’d learn from it is to disengage from this unfavorable encounter instead of forcing an unreliable game mechanic.
after around 1000 ogryn hours i tend to circumvent those spots when the action is on
there are a few tight spots that can instantly f’up your run, consignment yard to the lower area with the health station early on would be a prime example.
usually to your left there’s debris leaned on the railing, a spot thats for some reason easier to mount.
if by chance theres a barrel, its a free jump provided your mates dont light it up.
taking the right corner might get you stuck while open to a larger area of enemy fire.
so i only take that route if theres a daemonhost left or the encounter already passed
these premonitions can be applied to any map if the experience has been made earlier.
then there’s the tiny toe stumblers like certain bridge tiles that can stop your charge instantly.
those be just as a pain in the ass but harder to detect in the heat of battle.
so all in all :
•get “good” in terms of “when”
•get knowledgeable in terms of “where”
saved many a run, got those matches uploaded as well if you like to see practical applications
Agree, it’s been mentioned several times this year to FS…
The Ogryn should be able to break them IMO. Destructible environments would probably crash the game for a year, so its best left untouched when looking at FS ability to do things correctly the first time.
Sorry, the “git gut” was a try to be funny.
Got enough hours on Ogryn myself, and normally got no real probs with environment, but it’s anoying, that you need to factor handrails in but only on Ogryn…
for a second i thought that this was saying to give ogryns a platform on their backs to let their team mates climb on (1 at a time of course) and i’m sad now because its not in the game.
I’ve been reporting this garbage ever since they introduced this in patch 11 or 12 or whenever it was. Every other patch I put a bug report out. I record videos and make sure to be clear why and where it happens. It doesn’t get fixed. Apparently fundamental movement mechanics aren’t that important to have fully functional in game.
