I thought you meant your character couldn’t leave the bubble :stuck_out_tongue:

Trappers should be able to hit you while inside with you.

Outside with you inside no, but in your clip both you and the trapper were close to the edge. I would try it again with them a bit further from the bubble and you further from the edge.

Bubble should negate all ranged attacks within or entering. If I was standing a little farther away it would not happen, so there is a bug.

Bubble does not negate ranged attacks. It is a layer through which hostile ranged attacks cannot enter.

If this is a bug, it’s been ignored for a long time. I don’t believe it is, there is just a minimum projectile life for the net.

Head on a swivel.

Within, no. It’s a wall, that you can upgrade to be a dome. It’s not a sphere. It’s a wall that has a ceiling and allows you to shoot through it but enemies can’t shoot into while outside of it. If any enemy gets their gun to poke through the walls of the dome, or they’re inside with you, they can and will hit you with ranged fire. It’s not a… “filled” dome or sphere that stops enemies weapons from working with a space or makes you immune to ranged attacks while within the space. It’s the walls that are important. Inside it’s just a regular space (except it may also regen toughness, which is different from the wall behaviour).

At least, that’s how I understand it. Who knows, maybe a dev/cm will tell me off here.

Sorry mate, you’re just flat wrong here. The dome is “filled space” that kills projectiles of enemies in it. You can drop a dome on a pack of reapers and push in safely for the kill.
The issue at hand is just the “minimum projectile life” for the net I mentioned. If you stand right next to a vomiting burgle, it happens too.
Maybe an engine limitation? Maybe just how games work in general?
But no bug or it’s a very old one.

Iv had this happen many times. Iv learned not to stand point blank in the bubble when one is spewing.

Also yes you are correct, enemies cannot shoot while inside the bubble which Iv used to my advantage many times, although I assume they can hit you point blank as well although Iv never tried to find out. Might be good to check if this applies to all projectiles in the bubble.

I haven’t tested either, but I assumed hitscan lasers didn’t point blank you since I’ve fought plenty of shooters in bubble mosh pits, but anything projectile (net, vomit, physical nades) had to live for a minimum time.

Has bubble ever stopped nets? I just always assumed it didn’t. Doesn’t seem like something it should do, nets are already relatively short ranged and really strongly telegraphed.

Yes, just not point blank.

All projectiles that spawn inside the bubble will have a hitbox and then gets eaten by the bubble the very next instance. If you stand inside a Beast of Nurgle, for instance, jumping into its mouth, I’m pretty sure you’ll gain stacks and get eaten. This is always how it’s worked since release, it’s just the size of the projectile’s hitbox catching you before it gets deleted.

There was a time where if you placed a smoke grenade inside a bubble during 1-2-veg, a green trapper would go inside and stand inside you as they shot, but I believe they corrected their behavior to stand like 2 feet in front of you so stuff like this occurs less frequently. That, or it’s just the lengthy period of time since I’ve played the modifier and ran into this interaction.

Personally, they should just rework bubble so putting a dome over shooters doesn’t guarantee your safety or completely negates an entire boss from existing from the game no matter how despicable BoN is.

If this is the case, it would make sense to me to treat it like a wall. Would add more incentive to people choosing the non-dome talents.

I came to this thread thinking the same as well :joy:
