[Name] Hive Scum Brainstorm

What’s the significance of URKA to begin with? Just an online handle or does it reference/mean something?

I predict that you can’t name your character “Scum”Anything,
because “Scum” is a swear word and the game is going to block this because “offensive”,
despite the class being named “Hive SCUM”.

I thought that Urkas were those famous mercenaries… but they are Gurkas.

So with that error in my brain, I started playing as URKA with my first multiplayer game, Counter-Strike 1.5.

Now I use that name in most games.

In Darktide I try all names to start with “Urk”.

Specially my Ogryn, which name is “Urk”.

Fun fact: many players think that I am a girl because of Urka name, and most think I am russian, because “urka” means “prisoner” or “prisoner of war” in russian.

The game wouldn’t even allow me to put “Pounder” in my name. :expressionless_face:

Okay, I tried it.

You can literal call you Character "HiveScum”.
But you can’t call it “ScummyBear”, “HiveScumTEST” & “HiveScum0.9”.
No idea what the logic is there….

Bear might be disallowed because of the gay slang, and I dont think numbers are allowed at all, but HiveScumTEST is puzzling

It makes no sense, I’ve seen much worse names that passed, including “SprayFart” for an Ogryn.

my Arbites regularly calls other rejects scum too…

Reminds me of that South Park episode…we ban the N-Word only when it is next to the word “Guy”.

“Urki” are hardened criminals who spend a significant—or even the majority—of their conscious lives in prison. The term is usually used in the plural
