My opinion on Hive Scum

Ok I see.

You just don’t like them. There is no real “they don’t fit well in Darktide” other than… you don’t like them.

Oh and the class has its style. They mixed the support class wanted by the community with a desperado + a melee berserker.
This is clearly not a zealot and clearly not a veteran…

This class has a so strong identity that I play only it (and I have already seen that less players pick it).

What superpowers? Also other characters don’t have them? Even putting psykers aside, let’s take for example zealot ability to not die after attack that would smash him, his armor and weapon, is it not super power? Getting invisible without any technology is not superpower?

Fits both 40k as it’s lore was initially inspired by 80s culture including punks and necromunda being all about similar characters is a big part of of 40k lore.

Also scum fits darktide narratively, in fact arbites fit less, because if this whole chaos cult activity didn’t affect tithe, they wouldn’t lift a finger.

While cult activities 100% would affect cartels and they did, specifically water cartel.

Honestly whole 40k stopped being grim dark long ago, certain can(er hit hard on top of 40k becoming quite popular.

Space marine 2 wasn’t dark at all, it was epic.

Rogue trader is power fantasy, everyone and ANYTHING that tries to harm RT, gets rolled over by him and his team.

And whole Darktide brings narrative dissonance, where narratively there’s struggle against chaos, but gameplay is this:

I talk about the style of the game, not the Lore.

But I know what you mean.

I like how they were included, they feel like a natural fit. The cartels would definitely have an interest in returning the status quo over submitting to the cult. For gameplay it feels a lot more like a shake up than Arbites, who felt like them trying to take some of the high notes of Ogryn without committing to the same weaknesses (or strengths lmao taunt absolutely thrashes arbites for usefulness).

?

It feels weird cuz basically Zealot and Vet can easily be made into all of these at the same time, yet no one really has problems with vet being “an all rounder” and Zealot basically being able to do everything (just lacking a little damage when not spamming ult)

Zealot still the only class in the game with no ranged spec or hybrid-spec :sob:

Just throw knives 4head that’s ranged

Some parts of the class are a little hilarious, not gonna lie. Like where do the rocket launchers come from? xD ( i really don’t wanna think about it too hard since the scums outfit doesn’t leave much room other than the prison-pocket) –> put it on their backs if you use that blitz.

I think the point of Darktide getting “less dark” is kinda true. We’re just too powerful for the game to really get dark or maybe even a little scary at times.
But the idea of a Hivescum class in Darktide isn’t bad at all imo.

They are not “higher ups” in any gang, they are opportunistic low-level criminals trying to survive. Every single one of them would jump on the opportunity to team up with the inquisition. 1. they absolutely don’t like Chaos, they do not appreciate someone messing with their stimms and if they heard Grendyl is the Inquisitor in question?!

Oh boy, he already promoted an ex cartel member to Explicator, he’s some kind of huge hero in the sector and he seems to be overall REALLY forgiving and trusting for an Inquisitor. And Rannick isn’t far behind when it comes to being a generally nice Interrogator. He hired them, brought them on the ship and they are HIS project (afaik). It’s the best job offer our gutter-dwellers have ever seen

Maybe the Hivers need to mature a little, get some more voicelines and make their impact in the story. I mean they have some cool interactions with the others but I think they could praise the Emperor a little more. They are now Inquisitoral Agents and that should come with a good bit of pride, especially considering where they are coming from.

I want something like sticky hands for Zealot, seems really fitting. Maybe incorporate some stacking rending with IJ so its less of a ‘why’ keystone except highly specific backstabbing loadouts that mostly just got it for cost at that point and no appreciable benefit. When you were forced into dance of death for thy wrath be swift I kinda liked using it to hipfire or spray down ADS on something’s head. Felt good and a unique benefit to Zealot gunplay. Now there’s just no reason to take it.

You forgot the main vet magic trick these days, pulling out grenades out of their a55

My attention span is pretty huge after this.

with left ult you are immortal if you also pick 1 node on the keystone, chem nades are 150k damage per through if you chuck it at armour, rocket launcher is insane, shivs are better than ds4 or knife by a massive margin

Nahh, it feels that way due to Scum having +1000000000% dmg increase

if Scum had DS, DS would be the best option

I wish they added shivs to Zealot…

HC with 4 lights a second

I like Mk3 shivs, feels exactly where I would like those slashy fast weapons to be. The push stab gate really makes it more reasonable, and you still stack elites up like mad. The other ones are just abominations for damage and warp your perception hard. Its also extremely less interesting and intensive for me to just spam heavies or lights depending on situation with Mk1, damn I hate all the weapons like that. Use the whole moveset.

Yesss… bring more to the blender!

what do you mean by “they kill fast” ??? is the argument they kill faster than any other class mind you who doesn’t need a stimpak? I REALLY hope you’re not saying they are tankier than a psycher or vet while having the killing power of each?

You do realize this clip starts out with bug abusing right?

What bug am I abusing and actual timestamp please. The first like 5 minutes just seems like normal kiting.
