Meet the Plaguebearer

3 nurglings in a trenchcoat and each one is holding an autogun or lasgun. They can’t aim, they just like the feel of shooting wildly.

I believe one of the lore tubers thinks deathgaurd, plague marines are connected to events due to their unique structure model appearing in a map.

Also another plague ogryn flamer in game files that hasn’t been put out yet.

Oh i never knew about the plague orgyn flamer in the files, i hope that isnt a replace for a more unique boss, just sounds like a shitter storm fiend to be honest, as for the deathguard, amaybe i dont know

It’s those, Miasmic Malignifiers.

Which indeed are a “Death Guard Miniature”, but are so by virtue of being the only Nurglite Faction on the Table top (Deamons not really being well supported)

But this is the same things as any of the following

Truck

Bike, Quad, Grenade Launcher, Shotgun, Autopistol and Axe

Any Lore friendly stuff would be great.

The is a Nurgle Deamon Toad that could be interesting on the mission wre you have to cleasne and turn the water back on.

Nurglins should really be everywhere.

We got Beasts.

Rot flies could be interesting.

I would go with a greater daemon, because at least that would last longer than two strike with a DS.

They could be, though the height they are able to fly at would need to be capped at a reasonable level in outdoor areas and their health would have to be such that a well placed mag dump of an Autogun, Assail, Stubber, Ripper or Recon Lasgun could burst a group of them with little effort.

They would be great as an alternative to Pox Hound packs, coming in waves with a special sound cue to give players an opportunity to prepare for their arrival - like repositioning to an indoor area with lower ceilings so that when the very aggressive Rot Flies do attack, it’s much easier to control them.

Their Acid Vomit could function as a projectile and their Venom Sting could function as a dangerous melee attack that gives players an opportunity to cut them down with their own melee attacks as the fly dives low for the sting. To make them reasonable in Darktide, they would need to attempt stings frequently to give players an opportunity for melee counterattacks.

They definitely would add a challenging dynamic to gameplay, as attention split from other dangerous melee enemies - like Ragers/Crushers - to focus on the incoming aerial threat could be something that means the failure of a mission.

I was thinking as monstrocities, my self, big horrible flying things that just ruin your day. As Rot Flies IIRC, are born from the suffering of Beasts, force them to evolve.

They are big things these rot flies.

Would be different to attack, as when they fly high, DS and other melee weapons are useless, so adds somethign for the range players to deal with.

I see I was mistaken, I did not realize how large they were. Those are Plaguebearers riding on their backs…

Yeah, they would probably have to appear as a Monstrosity then if implemented.

Yes rot flies! Although would we really want to make it tougher for console to aim? (they’d have to look up :scream:)

I say double its hp and make it as tall as the Bile Troll from VT2

And also allow for some new enemy that would maybe shake the whole anti-carapace meta/strategy, would love to see it, i just dont know if i trust fatshark maps to be able to handle flying enemies

Enemies with the mark of Nurgle, that just makes the tougher.

In 40k, it’s a +1 toughness, and that is just crazy good in the board games.

Yes, Cranial Corruption would make nearby enemies tougher.

  • When shot, the enemy will explode.
  • Their head armor type becomes infested.
  • They gain 1.25x faster movement speed.
  • Their hit mass is increased by 1.5x.
  • They are suppression immune

Plaguebearers would effectively make ranged combat of the area they are in much more costly, melee would be the strategy in areas they are in. Not a bad thing.

It’s also worth noting, this would not be a completely passive ability. In combat, the Plaguebearer would periodically shout a rallying cry and in that moment whatever enemies are in X radius around him will receive Cranial Corruption.

It would be perfectly possible for an Ogryn to use Bullcharge or a Zealot to use Fury of the Faithful or Shroud with a THammer to stagger him and prevent the event from occurring before the Plaguebearer can react.

Stagger immune enemies do not belong in tide games, green dogs are miserable as is..

I changed it, no longer stagger immune. Plague Ogryn stagger resistance. For an enemy as slow as the Plaguebearer would be, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad as it sounds. Thammers, Bullcharge, Krak Nades, VoC would all stagger it.

No. I’d just straight up prefer to not have an extra source of corruption that just randomly shows up in melee thanks. That sounds awful.

Yes, let them suffer.
