Lore, Careers and Questions

Do Banshee’s have a will or act conciously? As we know Sofia - or someone posing as Sofia - has sent Lohner a letter of unknown content. Are Spirits able to do such “intelligent” actions?

But yea, if there are connections between witches and ghosts then the new maps could lead into this. Maybe it is some kind of short-term alliance between Lohner and Sofia where Sofia has been bound as Banshee and asked Lohner to free her. Not sure what’s in for Lohner other than not being blackmailed. It would fit the treachery part though.

I think they are supposedly part of the intelligent undead

In autumn 2524 IC, he lead an army of wood elves into Sylvania to rescue Alarielle’s daughter from the clutches of Mannfred von Carstein. He did not do this out of self-interest, but because Ariel had ordered him to.[2a] However, while in Ghoul Wood, they were ambushed by Kalledria, Queen of Sorrows, a banshee who was one of Mannfred’s lieutenants.

But was Sophia really burned? I vaguely recall that Sienna rescued her from the stake before it turned out she was guilty after all, or something.

She rescued her from the stacke, then burned her herself

Well, now I know why I didn’t find any entry for Tockstadt in the wiki.

Heh, totally missed this. Could have sworn I checked up and Friday. Was already prepared to note the “bi-weekly” rhythm of the FLC releases.

For a moment, I was up to believe that he would start describing a Franz Lohner adventure map we really cool elements. But then Kruber came back … enchanted? I think I’ve read something similar before in a fan-fiction :stuck_out_tongue: So, the cat is a familiar? Or a transformed mage? Illusions?

I don’t know, I was hoping to find ideas here. I know for sure I’ll be worried for a while

Hi, I remember a detailed lore post about the first drop of premium cosmetics, but i can’t find it, can you help me?

You’ll recall that the last time I got to scribbling, we had two absentees from the keep. Kruber had lumbered off to Ubersreik to pay familial respects and subsequently gone missing on the road.

Spun us a tale of a damsel in distress, he did, and a gallant battle against the forces of darkness to boot, and kept the details consistent enough that I might almost believe him. Then there was the look of outright puzzlement on his face when Kerillian quizzed him on the damsel’s name. Proper baffled, he was, which as we all know is a telltale of enchantment

That seem a lot like the Fay acting up. Do we know when approximately this happen ? Cause I think there was a few Wood Elves Maidens who had to be saved at some points. Cats are also standard familiars and stuff (Both for Wood Elves, Undead or witches)

Still hope that we get something more on Hedda, it would either consolidate or break my Dreadtide idea

I think it is possible it has been deleted. A quick lookaround made me find this announcement:

With a link at the bottom “Learn about the New Premium Cosmetics” which leads to this page:
https://www.vermintide.com/premium-cosmetics-1

Which does not work anymore.

Edit: Interestingly enough, we have now this page:
https://www.vermintide.com/premium-cosmetics

Which is a very nice overview but does not contain the longer text you are searching for.

Is it normal that the Fay brainwashes her helpers after they have done the deed? For an honour based system it seems weird that she has such massive trust issues.

I doubt that FS is secretely preparing a spin-off playing at the same time as the main series ^^’ But I am sure, we will hear about Hedda at some point. And if it is only about her dead and frozen body.

It’s in the realm of stuff that the Fey would do (RL mythos) and the Fey are Wood Elves, who are known trickster and the Lady is basically lying to the Bretonnians since ages

You know, I just thought of something: what if the great evil Sofia is planning involves the many portals within the wizard’s tower?
Yes, I’m talking Trial of the Foolhardy!
Having sections in different parts of the world would lend itself well to VT2 and its bigger areas design.
Having the Trial referred to ingame would be a gift on itself.

Looking back the trials could be considered a foreshadowing for olesya’s teleportation magic. The portals in the trial could open up some more locations.

Though, I always favoured the idea that some really powerful artefact had been sealed there by us to hide it from the skaven or chaos. And seeing how even Lohner was robbed by Halescourge she didn’t think he or us could actually protect it. I mean the mission ended with some kind of sealing process.

Yeah, she was “securing the ingredients”. We don’t know what those were for. Looking back to my older post, they were a crystal prism, a jar of eyes of newt, an “Ursun’s teeth” shard and a relic, I think a femur, sealed in the Drakwald Forest. Maybe Saltzpyre, as a Middenlander and a Witch Hunter, would know more.
Your reference to Lohner’s thief got me thinking: none of the other artifacts we get for her has been hidden (or “secured”) in the tower: the cursed rune was stolen together with Lohner’s books, and we see Drachenfel’s artifacs in the inn (those reappear in the Castle, only for us to hunt for them again).
Not sure what to make of it, but it’s interesting.
Another thing that springs to mind: “Tochstadt” is the place where her tower really is (Oleysa says there hasn’t been a town there in a long time, and what we saw was an illusion conjured to hide the tower) so the entrance in Ubersreik was possibly also a portal, and portals could explain some of the weird navigation in the original map.

If I remember correctly then some of the Drachenfels artefacts have been used in waylaid. Not sure if they are lore-wise one use items and then return to the castle or if that is some meaningless easteregg.

Nonetheless, the second part of Trails will be interesting.

Yes, the flask was opened during the attack on the inn and used to track the enemies, the skull was just laying there in a chest.
I read a bit of lore back then and it looks like it’s not uncommon for items taken from Castle Drachenfels to reappear there over time. The flask is empty the second time around, so I think that’s what happened. The chalices were just the Enchanter trolling us I think

A surprise!
Although… shouldn’t it be Uncle Okri?

Cousin Okri might be his informal name ? Like in my family everyone refered to one of the ancient as Godfather (Sound way more formal in English than in my mother tongue though )

The last is from an Umgi, a northerner named Franz Lohner – an associate of both my father, and, strangely enough, of another one of my old travel partners

Now who might this be, we do know of another Dwarf that has relations with Lohner, Thikad Urgolsson, might be him.

the Captain that sank the vampire fleet of Count Noctilus and led the boarding action against the scourge Blackfist.

Come on FS, make Dreadtide, my visions are safe and my wisdom true
