People don’t separate from the team and die because of loner, they do it because they are bad.
I think that loner is a bad “aura” because it doesn’t provide any team benefits in contrast to all the other auras.

Seriously though, I think it’s important to talk about the intent behind a given feature or design decision. Sometimes the intent is good, even if the feature itself is unpopular, doesn’t achieve its goals, or is misinterpreted somehow.
I feel like it’s useful to try and think about the intent so that if the intent is good, people can talk about ways to make it better at its job.
A lot of people interprete intent that isn’t even there or project their own desired intent onto the game. You argued this yourself recently and I see it everywhere now.
“But thing X is SUPPOSED to do Y only in situation Z”.
Would be easier of course, if people actually read the few blogposts that the devs do put out. They do state the occasional intent in those.
Both are true in my experience. Loner is a bad “aura” that provides nothing to the rest of the team, and what it does provide is too weak to justify using outside of trying to be efficient with skill points, but even that feels kinda tenuous, personally. I’ve also seen plenty of bad Zealots using Loner running off and dying, which is the player’s fault primarily but I think Loner definitely plays a part by “incentivizing” them to run off, since Loner basically says “you can regenerate toughness when you’re off by yourself, but get nothing special for sticking with the team.”
You do get all the benefits of the teammates aura when if you stick with the team, as well as better rigen. You are just a freeloader.
Right, to clarify I just mean that Loner doesn’t do anything when you’re in coherency.
Is toughness regen from coherency capped? If not, then loner treating the zealot as 2 people would grant the zealot toughness regen as if there are 5 people in coherency. So it would do something, just not for anyone else.

I think loner make it so you always count as with at least two people in coherency. Not with two additional people. Meaning the effect wouldn’t matter outside of solo and duo moment.
I would say that the talent is interesting but shouldn’t be an aura. It would be nice as a feat or ult feat but you shouldn’t be encouraged to reduce your participation to the team for it.
To be honest with Treg speed curios getting ~5/sec isn’t nothing. I think if it would be a non-aura node it would be auto-pickup on any “going solo” build.
Other Zealot auras are pretty cracked tho.
Wait what’s base coherency regen again? That sounds like more than I’d expect from a single other person’s worth of coherency even with +90%
TBH I don’t think treg perk has ever really been the play for Zealot so I’ll happily admit I’ve never tried Loner with curios specced to it.
2.5 to 5 (at full team) to the best of my knowledge.
