Itemization Rework Q&A Part 1 - Dev Blog

You can report player behavior here, https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/requests/new any screenshots or video recording helps and fatshark will take action

Are we getting legendary/exotic/unique gear in this rework? Or is this just stat/build-focused?

I like the sound of it all! It is what is expected and desired. I like the idea that this will make a character of mine that uses Bolt Pistol to have better use of the Bolt Pistol, fix blessings on weapons as well, even then there were some that had perks and blessings that jist did not line up, which I would hope can be fixed

Its what we wanted and what we will get. The other part of it gives us the drive to build upon things.
There are people that will never be pleased, can’t please everyone, yet this is what is coming to be a fun new system imo and it did fix the things people grudged over.

Its ā€œWeapon Potentialā€ to where it caps at its progression

Well, this just seems like a huge waste of time to me. hope the people doing maps and missions weren’t assigned this work.

Sigh. You were so close to perfection when you made the blessing system deterministic, but you did nothing to address the core issue of stat RNG grind. All you had to do to make the game perfect is to cut the RNG and let us build our characters how we want.

Fatshark will never understand this but we play their games in spite of the loot systems because we enjoy the gameplay. Their games will forever be niche because the systems they implement to prop up player metrics drive potential customers away. It’s a self sabotaging cycle, for a coop game no less.

If you insist on keeping bar stat RNG, then at least give us an out. Let us shift some of those percent around so that we only need to find a nearly perfect item as opposed to a perfect one. Otherwise the same RNG grindfest will just stretch into the horizon forever and people will get fed up with your bs.

once I max msatery and expertise for A family on my favorite character- let me use Diamantine to tweak the percentile modifiers.

100 Diam = 1% sway (meaning you can -1% from one modifier to +1 another)

I want to be able to take that 380 cap and go
100+100+100+80+0
100+100+100+50+30
80+80+80+80+60
80+75+75+75+75

Any combination I want, perfect control!
By the time you do this for your fave 5 weapons on all 4 characters that’s 20 Mastery/Expertise grinds, 100K Diamantine, 200+ grind hours all spent… but the grind will be okay because you have full tangible control!

Hi! Could you explain again the stats point?

I mean, in the current system, a weapon borns with X% stats that will remain the same… so, if you get a weapon with stats (for example) around 30-50%, you already know it’s bad and will always be.

While it’s considered good if above 70%

Now, what will change? Will you be able to increase the stats so will not exist bad weapons anymore?

Does the weapon potential system apply retroactively to already owned weapons?

If so it seems like any badly statted 380s we have now are terminally bricked and we should actually be stockpiling weapons with a promising looking dump stat regardless of rating.

The amount of folks on these forums particularly who rail against an in-game report system is disheartening and baffling.

Personally I rarely bother with any report system, but I find it particularly curious that fatshark obscures theirs so heavily. The ā€œrequestā€ tool is already too many degrees of separation to effectively report so it discourages people from bothering. In-game reports should not be automated, and a manual review should be conducted so as to avoid malicious mass-reporting (but c’mon, the block system barely works so a report function would be bound to be just as clunky).

I have empathy for others and I don’t believe that anyone should be subjected to racist or sexist or whatever tirade from some cheeto-dust caked neck-beard reprobate. The block system that exists in-game is sufficient for individuals despite its clunkiness, but is a terrible way to handle a community that happens to harbor many a dickhead. It’s also easily circumvented by altering online status to appear offline, unless that little quirk has been fixed since I played back in April.

Again, Commander, we find ourselves agreeing in principal. I’m concerned chiefly with the length of the grind.

It’s gotta be reasonable. I dunno what ā€œreasonableā€ looks like in terms of hard numbers or time spent because we need to get an eye on the system as it looks when we receive it and we haven’t yet and I’m not willing to play math when we only have so many known variables. But FS sure does love that grind.

So can u atleast see what the base ratings will turn into when u push it to 380, i dont understand why not to just make weapons to go 400 unless u want to waste peoples times later on in the games life cycle by adding reds that have acess to 400 base rating

How does Itemization affect Solo Mode players? oh… wait.

Hey StrawHat :v:t2: we appreciate the updates! Do you know if curios will be unlocked as well? Will they be changed with this update?

Upon consideration my biggest concern at the moment is the system further funneling people into top difficulty that shouldn’t be there. Mastery parity between damnation and Auric I think would be very very wise here. Honestly even extending that parity to Heresy would be good in my book.

The grind should be accessible and reward time spent at a good pace regardless of difficulty, with higher difficulties giving better mastery rewards corresponding to the increased mission time those higher difficulties tend to involve, but only being ā€œbetterā€ for farming mastery if you can semi consistently win. I think that would be the ideal balancing point to neither punish people playing lower difficulties nor punish good players for grinding it out on higher difficulties.

Cross progression between all classes in same weapon will be aweasome…
But what about Ogryn? All of his weapons are only for him, or you have some idea?

I’m pretty positive for this update as literately anything is better then what we have currently and people have been asking for something since day one. The only concern I would have is the ā€œLimitā€ at the bottom right of the example picture, because if you have a limit there and stopping people from getting x2 tier 4 blessings and x2 tier 4 perks it’s just the same thing we currently have with a new paint job. Everything else sounds great, I just hope they remove the ā€œlimitā€ or the ā€œexpertiseā€ you get with a weapon increases the limit to allow the player to have all tier 4 blessings and perks.

Q: is this update going to come with balancing changes? A lot of us feel the game is too easy, even on the hardest difficulties right now. Weapons like the plasma gun, revolver and knife makes the experience way too easy, for instance. I understand you guys try your best not to nerf players, but sometimes the players really do need it. Some enemy buffs would be welcomed also.

They did mention some blessing changes. Some of the absurd blessings and weapons getting tuned may solve the issue? Looking at you, knives.

Does this mean that expertise (playtime with that specific weapon card) will boost the cap to where both perks & both blessings are maxed at IV? Since 82 (modification number) is exactly 1/5 of the stated expertise number in that weapon card (410).
