I’m currently using the Agripinaa Mk VII Shotgun on my zealot. Occasionally, after shooting and switching to my knife, my crosshair will jerk up suddenly. I’m not sure if it is because the stability on the shotgun is pretty low or if something else is going on? Weapon stats and lots of short clips below:
As you can see, it seems to vary in how extreme it is. Not sure if it’s because I get it under control quickly, or something else is going on. Anyway it’s horribly jarring and I’m unsure if I should ditch the weapon because its a stability issue, or go make a bug report. Also reviewing this has shown me that my aim is terrible, so try to pretend that isnt a thing.
Thanks for checking it out!
Edit: I thought maybe it was a mouse issue, but it only happens with this specific gun. Never an issue in melee or with other secondary weapons.
Its more of an shotgun issue than anything to do with stability.
I have kanty that has like 76% stability and lawbringer with 74%, and it still does this regularly when swapping out too quickly.
Does this happen only with the shotgun? Or is it something that happens with other high recoil weapons also?
I suspect that the recoil animation keeps its momentum during the transition to melee and that’s why there’s this huge swing: the momentum stays fixed at the moment you trigger the melee switch so it’s stronger the closer it is to the shot.
Out of curiosity, have you tried reproducing this in the meat grinder? I wonder if it has a latency component, as I’ve been trying for 20 minutes and it isn’t happening.
By comparison I have it happen about 5ish times a standard game.
I definitely feel like its an issue on the client/server not matching their states, so when you switch to your melee weapon after shooting the servers says nah its actually in this elevation.
Haven’t really tried this in meatgrinder, but i could definitely give an attempt when i got time.
