Wack. Real wack. That’s also assuming there’s no exp bonus either. It took me hundreds of hours to max all characters in Vermintide 2 but that was through multiple breaks and with those exp bonus weekends. Still, it was a slow tedious process in which I’ll never wish upon anyone - Fatsharks infatuation with grind in Vermintide was awful. Thankfully, once I unlocked all the talents for each character the game was fun when I was able to freely switch between characters whenever I wanted, as is evidenced by my playtime after maxing them:
the difference in verm2 is if u wanted a weapon i could craft it. make it orange (or red) and rolls properties on it in a minute. there was no grind to be “allowed” to upgrade my weapons. combine that with that fact that verm2 also gives u a box with 3 items per mission completion and one for each level up forever past 35. so yeah while verm had a good bit of grind to get everything you wanted it gave u much much more material to work with which was always usable. darktide gives u 1 single weapon or curio for a mission completion and if ur lucky on damnation enough plasteel to make 1 weapon orange not including rerolling perks/blessings. and with this new system they make no mention of being able to use ur resources many have stocked on to do anything beyond change modifiers.
let me use my 150kplas and 60kdiam. id rather use that stock of resoruces to pay for rearranging stat distribution and removing locks than being forced to grind out all my weapons a 2nd time.
Please tell me that this “conversion” doesn’t require having collected all levels (I, II, III, IV) to get the equivalent in mastery point to keep using blessings level IV.
wouldn’t surprise me if it did. you cant even reliably get t1 and t2 blessings on weapons upgrading them at level 30. ull get mostly 3s and some 4s thrown in. the only real possibility of getting lower tiers at max rank is finding them in the shop.
How long do we have before the great conversion?
Better start gambling for low-level blessings now!
A few months at least, from the annoucement “An update on Itemization”
Exactly what “after summer” means can be debated, but I understand it as being near the end of September.
Prior to the many quality of life fixes to Vermintide 2’s crafting system there absolutely was a tremendous grind. More specifically, back in the day, people had to grind out book runs on Legend to get higher tiers of chests in order to secure better loots as the process of rolling on orange quality weapons consumed a lot of dust. This is also ignoring the arduous process of rolling for max property values on orange tier gear. Reds of course completely bypass this but it was a very low chance to even secure one from a chest unless you grinded full book runs on legend and even then it was still a ‘chance’.
Vermintide 2 was a lot more grindy than Vermintide 1; in the first game you could just do a quest from the bounty board to get either a red or cosmetic.
These days though it’s better than what it used to be. For starters you get red dust from Chaos Wastes weeklies as well as the fact that an expedition is guaranteed to secure you an emperor’s chest. You can also work towards cosmetics by completing challenges or getting free shillings from daily logins.
No? Blessings are unlocked account wise. If you unlock a recon lasgun blessing on a psyker it will be available for a vet too.
Can I get some more detail about this random part? Does that mean the casino is still in?
I see how you’re plannng to save us time regarding farming blessings a second time with this explanation, but what about the weapons I already have? Are they dissolved into new resources as well?
i know ive had verm2 since launch. at its worst verm2s grind was how tides is now 2 years after release. the game launched with more content at a cheaper price to. which was easier to swallow and had more stuff to do.
saltzspyre lower than elf
I no longer wish to read your posts.
wow this dev blog is a serious rollercoaster of a blog, from hope after skimming it to utter despair after realizing how it actually works.
It’s incredible how much work you put into avoiding implementing the Athanor from Weaves as a crafting system and reinventing the crafting systems so they’re always just ever so slightly better but still RNG and very grind based like the previous iteration, it really takes skill and passion towards keeping the new player experience AND veteran player experience awful to be able to provide a new and unique ways of disappointing your playerbase.
Sasuga FS
also it really be nice to mention all the enemy agro changes to in patch notes. like the more aggressive ragers, longer bursts from gunners, more accurate gunners, the literal spam of gunners filling rooms, on top of all the map changes to make some areas actual garbage (enclavum baross, where the draw bridge event is more intense than the ending cuz that super fun to run 100m awayto get cells under constant horde). and the nerfs to talents to. that you also forgot to mention.
turning every up on speed isnt fun. getting hit from a mile away from sliding enemies isnt fun.
Why not simply play a lower difficulty?
its not difficulty lol its wathcing them physically slide across the ground to hit me when i dodge. and the fact they dont say they did it. tahts the more annoying part
It’s okay. Me being a terrible Shade “Main” who is unable to parry brings balance back to the universe.
Depending on when you played, I’m sure I must have ‘accidentally’ hit you in the back with a BH ult… or slayer axes… or Huntsman Longbow… maybe the occasional firebolt as well…
i shot a slayer mid jump once firing at a spawn with BH ult. nearly killed him.
… you have no idea how badly I want to all-caps Wu’s most important English word gleaned from Swearengen…
Looking forward to the crafting update. Hope the blessing/perk points all fit within the 100 point limit and maxed weapons aren’t forced to compromise on good blessings. I’m guessing it’ll be like the weave crafting where you upgrade the max limit for these points, or it’s always at a static 100.
