I slept over it and while the idea is interesting, I have several concerns with the implementation:
it will be tedious to find a group even with the party finder each time
it will be frustrating for players to get demoted
it will be annoying because of alt+F4
it will be toxic due to elitism
it will be even more frustrating if the majority of the players hit a wall and realize they are not good enough
it will possibly be dead in a couple of months if all players do is reach/get carried to level 40 once, get their portrait frame and go back to normal mode.
I feel like this is catered to the top 1% and even this main target group might get bored of it once they cleared it.
Was personally looking forward to new weapons or a new class.
This 1% is too wrong, according to the description a person who is rank 1 can get to the types that make level 20 and get level 20 for free, and this elitism loses its meaning. If this mode implies a challenge - then everyone should go through all levels and not miss such machinations, and it turns out in the end again there will be players who mistaken difficulty
But it is necessary that those for whom it is difficult - can not reach it by jumping levels. Because it turns out the player got access to the most difficult level and goes there in the hope of others that they will do everything for him. There should be teamwork, but it should not turn into shifting responsibility to others and hoping that others will cope, and so far I see that it will be.
That’s the problem with the weird matchmaking. I will never find 3 people to grind through 40 (assuming we always make it through in the first try) levels if it doesn’t count towards their progress as well.
But yeah, you can absolutely get carried by one guy that is level 40 and able to solo that thing.
The more I think about it the less it makes sense.
Fatshark themselves admitted that weaves not having quickplay kinda killed it in the beginning (among a lot of other mistakes). Why the f would they repeat that exact same mistake?

Granted, I’m hoping at least one of the modifiers is less and way stronger Elites.
Also, I don’t quite see to connection people make to the weaves.
Sounds to me like similar-to-normal levels, but with penalties attached to the players and extra enemy groups that are placed in the level, but not always at the same spots.
So what you’re saying is they’ll finally get flashlights?
I want to like this, but it reminds me too much of the trainwreck that the Weaves were in VT2.
I think if you guys just added a third mission tab - standard, auric, havoc - most players would be happy with this.
The ranking and the matchmaking feel really , and I’d say they don’t belong in this game.
You’ll get a few portrait frames and a cosmetic set (moebian). Idea is to have it be a challenge mode.
Who am I kidding, this isn’t for those of us who were asking for more challenge.
This is a god damned lie. No one in their right mind would have taken our request for more challenges, and turned it into “Oh, they want WoM from Vt2”.
This isn’t for us, this is some weirdo in the design team at Fatshark doing it for themselves.
