is there a trolling prevention that kicks people trying to fail a mission on purpose by refusing to proceed thus letting the timer run out ?
other than that it sounds good on paper,
blood got it right back in the day, necromunda hired gun had a fun train section, warhammer seems to be made for megalomanical (in a good sense) scope of machinery and transportation.
Good: shorter, punchier missions, hopefully without the whole ‘ur team must gather together’ bits that slow things down. That one horrible zealot achievement might just be doable.
Potentially bad: Linear. On Damnation where quad Bulwarks might be a thing…nope.

Sounds like the repurposed evolution of the Flash Missions. No, they were never meant to be Maelstroms even if they inherited their tags…flash missions were supposed to be and I’m paraphrasing lightly ‘shorter more intense missions’. Hopefully you have more in stock.

Perhaps, if this becomes an issue, it’ll be an easy fix to lower the spawn rate of a specific enemy type.
I felt you already had this and removed it with timed horde spawns. I really hope you add those back at some point.
I was hoping the timer was more narrative than in mission. We’ll see how that turns out.
I assumed it came from Consignment Yard, with the train at the end. My thought when playing that mission was “it would be awesome if we had a mission on moving train.”

Will this be a REALLY BIG train holding unlimited enemies or maybe we’ll see some heretics boarding from a passing train that the moebians sent in? I like thinking about unrealistic logistics.
Mission with timer is a very high chance of being abysmal if the pacing isn’t just right, this sounds like a nightmare to design. I’m hopeful, though. It will always feel awful though that clutching becomes near impossible in this. Stand and Hacks aren’t great, but in this situation with a timer… well if your entire team downed you might as well just die cause no way are you hacking during that. If you are able to hack, then clearly spawns are broken or intentionally lower, which is unacceptable. Rescuing will probably take too long if the situation is dire, so better to quit, which feels awful.
Linear would be fine if we didn’t have the possibility of four Bulwarks in a deathball merging into one another. We need some room to move around, especially if this happens. Lowering their spawn rate or even preventing their spawns sounds more like a band-aid than good, removing parts of the game just to facilitate the perfect hallway experience sounds… boring.
Everything else however - especially the concept of the entire mission being an event start to finish - sounds exciting. I’m interested if nonetheless just to see what happens, and also some new music.
