I was theory-crafting while looking at the talent tree and managed to remove talents without removing the ones below, and the game allowed it without resetting.
Initially I had in this loadout worked my way down the tree until I hit “Coated Weaponry”. After taking “Toxin Mania” below that, I branched left to grab “Pocket Toxin”. Played a couple matches with this setup, and then swapped “Coated Weaponry” to “Extra Pouches”. I swapped the two talents without removing the ones below by using the mod TalentRefundBelow, but have since removed the mod to test if the issue persists after, which it does. I am now able to choose all lower talents in that section of the tree as they keep each other connected.
