What? Please explain how you got to that conclusion?
Okay let me be honest.
Fresh level one players absolutely belong on Sedition, Level One Difficulty.
I have only anecdotal evidence but I feel I can comfortably say that Sedition is a necessary aspect for someone completely new to the game.
you were wiping on uprising and blaming your team or how do you arrive at this conclusion?
pleashe provide empirical statistics to prove uprising is easy
Since this is now an argument on difficulty I think itās worth mentioning the bottom ones are designed as such as new players and new characters in general have little to no skills and the numbers on the their weapon % category
Throw in new players who know little and it makes sense⦠problem then is what point they serve when u level up and have all those points and stuff, itās too simple even for those who want a more relaxed time
Itās also worth mentioning how the penances and how much resources it takes to upgrade each weapon to max kinda funnels if not soft forces players who may not be ready for harder stuff into playing it anyway
āSee that cool armor, youāll get it faster if you play on damnation. Not ready for havoc? Shame, we have some cool cosmetics locked behind level 30ā
The easiest way I could see is having lower difficulties scale their enemies health to better suit your level but Iām open to ideas
iām really just saying that thereās currently two difficulties that serve this purpose. sedition is available from level 1, so is uprising. sedition and uprising both are trivially easy to the point of being a walking simulator even at level 1. their numbers are a bit different sure but it doesnāt make a difference, theyāre literally both the tutorial for fresh characters. apparently this claim has caused some controversy among people who are CONVINCED that what iām saying canāt be true and their only argument against it is ābecause fatshark decided to do it so it canāt have been done thoughtlesslyā
my sole point is that they should rescale it so sedition is the sole tutorial difficulty for fresh characters, so that the difficulty curve can be increased for the other difficulties. it makes no sense for the difficulties to be just stepping stones while leveling either, it causes the dynamic that everyone thinks they have to be playing on the hardest difficulty which causes the hardest difficulty to be continuously made easier for those players (exactly what happened with this game post release)
No, silly, provide some evidence that every new level 1 player could just skip Sedition, which seems to be a big part of your argument.
Oh I completely agree, I just pointed out the stepping stones bit as a reason to why they made it the way they did (despite not liking it myself) and some of the other ways they essentally push players to the harder difficulties when itās really not needed
The lack of respect to let either side of the fan base have their own neice and pushing less experienced players into higher difficulties through these ways are a major part of the problem and theyāre gonna keep being so unless the only reason to play harder stuff is because people find the challenge fun, not for the penance rewards, not for the coins and materials to upgrade weapons or get stuff from the overpriced commisary
Until we adress those bits in tandem with difficultiy changes then this problem will still remain
provide evidence that water is wet. uprising is not a real difficulty, itās a tutorial for beginners, anyone not arguing in bad faith acknowledges this
this isnt debate club
Yea itās definitely impossible to believe that some people are so miserably bad at video games that Sedition might be a decent starting difficulty for them.
Case closed, debaters!
(Also ābad faithā never fails to make me chuckle. Thanks, debater!)
āah yes the one mauler spawn per mission kills me in 30 hits instead of 20 now, now itās manageableā you actually believe this?
i dont find it hard to believe you get hit by accusations of bad faith arguing a lot because itās really hard to believe you arenāt being contrarian on purpose
FS, the people who made the game and have all the data on win rates, new player experiences, etc etc etc. sure seem to think so (by virtual of the fact that this āproblemā hasnāt been fixed).
But yea obviously I believe that Sedition is easier than Uprising and it has a tangible difference in the gameplay for some people (helloooo casual console gamers!)
Could you bring up some?
Yea MUCH more likely that you, with no data, know better!
No I mean actual tangable felt change that the average player can see or feel, like jumping from heresy to damnation or damnation to auric
If the only way you can argue there even being a diffence is looking at the source code and not pointing out a detail someone who plays those difficulites would notice then youāre silently admitting me and Horticulture are right and that the differences between the two difficulties
are too minor to actually affect gameplay
I knew better about the crafting system being hot ass so iām already 1 out of 2 on being right and knowing better than them and where all their experience and data from vt2 led them
data is data but actually interpreting it properly is something fatshark is probably not very good at considering the decisions they make
LMAO no. But Iāve seen how often they get downed on even Uprising. Sedition is needed for those completely fresh players.
The truth is in the code. Everything else is opinion.
If enemies hit harder and aim faster, if they have 25% more health, and if the tension safety net rises slower then yea, itās objectively harder.
didnāt understand the whole convo about difficulties
but itās good thereās a wide range of difficulties, which is pretty universal, in any coop 4 player game.
also beside mods, it is also cool to play at lowest difficulty just to explore maps in peace with friends (to find skips etc )
also it is good to see new players in high difficulties
never a problem
