Headset not detected in Audio Options

Issue Type (Required):

Audio

Issue Description (Required):

I have a Logitech Pro X headset, but it is not detected in the Audio options in Darktide.

I have tried:

  • Turning off all other sound devices, but the game still detects the default sound devices other than the headset.
  • Disabling the headset and re-enabling it.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.
  • Updating windows sound settings and making the headset the default sound device for the whole PC.

None of the above worked, and I still cannot connect my headset to Darktide.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

May I confirm, does the headset work as expected outside of Darktide?

Yes, it works for other games and as the primary sound device for Windows 11 when selected as the default device from the list of sound devices. For some reason it does not show up on the list of sound devices in Darktide.

We can disregard this issue now. I’m not sure how I fixed it, but it is fixed now. I will outline the series of events that lead to the apparent “Self Correction”.

I was playing Darktide with 3 friends on 2/1/24, around 8:00 p.m. CST.

The game crashed while playing, according to the error logs, 7:58 p.m… The Error code was Kernel Error according to Windows 11 Event Viewer.

I rejoined the game in progress. It placed me at the same place I was when I crashed. Which was in a recovery location after having been thrown off a ledge to my death.

About 10 seconds later, about 7:59 p.m. another Kernel error followed by 2 more Kernel errors and a system crash occurred per the Event Viewer. As the game window closed I am pretty sure I saw a BSOD, but it just flashed and the PC restarted.

When the PC finished the reboot cycle it started normally, but with no sound.

I ran the troubleshooter and it somehow fixed the problem and sound was working again for the PC.

When I logged back into the game at about 8:15 p.m. there was no sound so I opened settings to see if it was set correctly and all of the sound options I have enabled for the PC were available in game.

It should be noted that I ran the troubleshooter prior to initiating this post and it didn’t find anything wrong and this headset issue was isolated to Darktide on my system.
