Havoc Question

I apologize if this is the wrong area to post this or if it has been addressed before. I am a little confused as to how Havoc leveling works.

I completed a Havoc 24 mission Saturday night. So I reached Havoc 25, but did not start the new mission then. When the Havoc week reset Sunday night, I had a brand new Havoc …24 mission? Shouldn’t that be a 25?

Thank you!

Yes that’s intentional, your assigned havoc mission gets reduced by 1 rank every week.

Keep in mind the above post is true only if you don’t play any matches that week or if the highest level match you play is the same as your current rank.

For example:

You are 24 right now. If you only play 1 match this week and it is a level 15 mission, then when the missions reset on Sunday, your available mission will turn into a level 15 (or 14? I can’t remember) mission.

You will keep the level 24 rank for completing the 24 mission, but the missions you are allowed to host are based on the highest thing you completed the week prior.

This is because at the start of the week, your Havoc assignment gets changed to your highest completed, which was 24.

It doesn’t make any sense specifically because of what you just had happen (and for some other reasons), but it’s how it works

So…just to make sure I understand this…

If a player wanted to advance only one rank in Havoc every week, they would need to complete two Havoc missions every week?

  • One to catch back up to the stage they reached before the weekly reset, then a second to actually advance?
  • And…isn’t that effectively the same as losing a level each week, regardless of playing or not?

I know it’s not the same as jumping from Havoc 30 to Havoc 15, but I just want to make certain I’m understanding what happened & why.

That’s how it’d work out yeah.

Not related to your problem in particular but another problem with the system: There is another seperate mechanic where if you don’t play ANY havoc, your assignment rank gets downgraded by 1. So if you’re at assignment 39, then don’t play a single havoc that week, you drop down to 38. But if you play a single assignment 26 that week, your assignment goes down to 26. So depending on your goal and how you feel, not playing a Havoc can be the smart choice.

The whole thing makes relatively little sense and seems unfinished

Ok, thank you! At least now I know where my assumption of how it advanced was wrong, lol.
