Havoc is worse than ever

Most Havoc modifiers just make enemies tougher or more stagger resist. Stimms, rotten armor, rampaging, garden, pus-hardened etc.

It’s really just poor game design. Part of the fun of the game is getting the visual and auditory feedback from kills. No seriously I’d rather just that enemies keep spawning than having every 3rd elite be a bossfight in itself. Wailing non-stop with artillery and dark age of technology swords and cannons on the same 3 crushers or ragers for the better part of a minute isn’t fun for any of a very broad range of interpretations of that word.

Brainbursting the same stupid gunner four times without it resulting in a kill is ridiculous. Knowing there’s 8 more of them to go through even if you get it on the 5th slow-ass attack makes it feel like working in an Amazon warehouse in China. You’re not quite sure if you just want the day or your life to be over asap. There’s another work day tomorrow.

Stimms are objectively crap even all by themselves. Their interactions with other modifiers break the game completely.

Just stop with the whole more health more armor more stagger resist nonsense. Do something else for a change. The exploding head tentacle mutation was interesting as it was at least different. Adding another visual effect for the same basic “enemy is tougher” mechanic isn’t.

Here’s a silly idea: Dogs that fart. Like literally. The dogs come running, they’re “normal” infested dogs except they nurgle fart. Small gas cloud, dissipates quickly. Character banter ensues. Hilarious.

See, I can make sh1te up. Pun intended.

Thats the Gloom Modifier in Helldivers, I wouldn’t put it past FS to do this.

And overall post I agree, nobody likes Bullet Sponge Creep!

Yeah bullet sponges are boring AF and this havoc rotation is just horrible. I don’t think I’ve had fun once as it’s wipe city through a million ways that are completely out of players control. I had loads of fun with the previous modifiers.

Also, my dog does nurgle farts often. I’d not wish it on my worst enemy lol

But the Grandfather loves all his children.

Havocs needs modifiers that forces a change in how players play the game to create a challange.

Rituals was a good step in the right direction, it required a modicum of coordination and forced players to play in a way they otherwise would not have. However, it was buggy as hell and Fatshark refused to tune to it to be less frustrating to play.

Maybe something like objectives that require two players to finish and they spawn away from each other to force a team seperation. Or a Tox Gas mod more like the Twins raid where the players forced to move from safe spot to safe spot (that are close to each other and have obvious indicators) during Horde events. Or a mod that reduces the area that players can fight in but can also be used to the players advantage. Or even just a timer modifier that forces the player to rush through area and/or the map.

They also tried that by punishing ranged gameplay as hard as they could without outright disabling it. Repeatedly.

we are all waiting for the great dot age of strife

Average Havoc 40 experience: 300+ disablers killed by the team followed by at least twice as many elites.
You are literally assaulted non stop by wave of specials backed up by elites (most of them being ranged) and bosses, ironically represeting their method of trying to figuring out how this should work: Throwing everything at it and see what sticks.
It’s fun for the first 5 minutes, then it becomes a chore.
You know something is really wrong when you’d expect to feel pride and accomplisment when u complete H40 but instead all you feel is relief for being freed from this constant sht storm.
The modifiers are just the icing on the cake at that point.
