Raiders and Savages have the same sound indicator. Give Savages a unique sound like Plague Monks have.
And SOMETHING that really makes them stand out from among the myriad of same-looking swamp bros.
I think their largely naked appearance is good enough
But as TC says, a more distinct sound cue would be greatly appreciated
A backstab woosh for both would be good too.
A what?
Unique sounds for them would make the game easier.
Sometimes I hear a guy screaming and think its one of the berserkers running towards me, then I turn and find its just an ambient enemy bawling his head off.
I would love for the zerkers to have a more individual ambient sound.
Everyone is very naked. Besides, one can’t stop to count the samey-looking clothing pieces everyone has when they’re just bunched together screaming the same scream.
Their differences are very striking actually
Notice how the marauders all have considerably more clothes on, and all of them have headgears, whereas berserkers are pretty bare outside of pants
Not to mention their dual wielding gives them away
They just look like another variation: full helm, open helm, no helm, right shoulder, left shoulder, straps, strapless (there are bare chested normal guys too!), sword, mace, sword and shield, axes.
They have the same tatoos and general color palette.
Yeah, they might run in their own way, but they’re not the easiest to make out in a crowd unless it’s too late. Especially with how awful the shadows are most of the time and in the middle of the chaos (no pun intended).
Plague rats at least dress in a very distinctive way and color and shout loudly.
I’m just asking for some reddish parts or something so that they stand out more without having to count weapons among a sea of weapons… not a redesing.
Look at the images I posted. The marauders are all exclusively helmeted which makes the always hard-headed berserkers especially noticeable. And Marauders are always far more covered up than Berserkers, even with the one in the back of that image.
Dual wielding axes with both weapons raised is also something exclusive to the berserkers.
We’ll have to agree to disagree here because not once have I ever had a hard time telling them apart in a crowd. The only issue have always been their sound not being distinct enough.
But they already do have unique sounds, what do you mean? If the game doesn’t forget to play them that is
The issue seems to be that ambient Marauders sometimes make an almost identical sound that the berserkers make.
Yeah I guess there are a couple of suspiciously ‘frothy’ noises the usual guys make. Still in my experience the heatseeking homing jump that the zerks make (including around corners) is a more common source of accidental damage taken from them.
Ironically for some players that’s the attack that makes them easier to deal with than Plague Monks. Provided you are host (as non-hosts, things can get weird)
It’s fairly slow and telegraphed, and leaves a window for counter attacks. But most importantly, the attack separate them from the pack and lets you single them out.
In contrast the plague monks all rush in together to combo you to death. If one gets you 1 or more are often swiping you at the same time.
That’s true, but only if you’re looking in their direction. If they jumped like a doorway and a flight of stairs earlier, they can just gracefully glide into your face from behing an obstacle. You see, while they appear to be airborne due to the animation, the game still moves them like a game piece according to regular ground pathing, which gives them the ability to steer and stop mid-jump.
Hеll, I once looked behind my back as a dawi, saw noone, turned away and died to one of those guys that were hiding in the air above XD
@akaLuckyEye I want it too.
Is annoying when you are in middle of a swarm of enemies, and suddenly BERSERKER!!!
