Fix. the. vaulting

holy sweet mother. i have never played a game that has so much difficulty doing the most simple and basic things lol why is it so difficult to vault over railings as the ogryn? it’s not even a 50/50 chance, and there’s no way to reliably do it. even the normal-sized people is iffy. god forbid you need to actually make it over a railing while you’re being chased, only to stop dead in your tracks and just jump straight into the air lol

it can’t be that difficult to just make vaulting work. it just can’t. there are entire games where the gameplay revolves around vaulting and navigating all different kinds of terrain and structures, vertically and horizontally, and this game can’t handle a simple rail vault?

this isn’t the early 2000’s anymore. this “feature” isn’t some sort of specialized thing that no other game has. i don’t expect mirror’s edge-type parkour, but i think it’s a pretty reasonable request to be able to easily traverse over something that’s shin-high as a ridiculously giant man lol ho-ly.

Vaulting works somewhat fine you just need to tab the spacebar twice, since you can vault while mid-air

Naw dude vaulting with ogryn is hella buggy due to his height.

i don’t know how they haven’t fixed this yet…

Darktides vaulting is the biggest thing that makes it feel like the devs can’t get it together. Most of the weapon animations are great, detailed, and lovingly crafted, but the vaulting is just sad. It’s worse than PUBG, which didn’t have any vaulting to begin with. Deep Rock Galactic’s was a little buggy before 1.0, and in certain builds you’d have to double tap or hold to vault, but now it’s great. DRGs maps are randomly generated. Major Ogryn problem.

I’ll add that a good vaulting system is fun. I include the delay when running, dashing, and running again in the same category. It should be smooth and fun. It isn’t. How about the fact that you can’t switch between zoom levels while shooting so zooming in and out and shooting has a weird janky delay with certain weapons. Try the braced agripinaa for reference. The gap between how smooth some things are in the game and how other parts feel 10 years old is a big problem.

Vaulting is definitely a major needle in ogryn’s gameplay feel. Having to struggle over objects might be immersive but there’s a very, very good reason why mobility and gunplay are two major things to get very right in any shooter.

Not to say that ogryns couldn’t just crush or topple obstacles to begin with, so being dumb as an excuse for buggy vaulting is about as good as it gets…
