Beacon of Purity does too, but to a much lesser extent.
Does this feel like a bug to anyone else? Field Improvisation makes medkits clear some corruption, but grimoires give you corruption just by holding them. These do not play nice together. I’m sure everyone’s run into this problem by now; if you have a grimoire, field improvisation medkits will continually try and fail to remove their corruption, which causes the medkit to use itself up even when the people it’s healing are full health.
(An aside, the penance for Beacon of Purity can be acquired super fast through the same mechanism. Having a grimoire will cause beacon of purity’s corruption healing to be active literally all the time, even if no corruption is actually being cleared.)
This seems like it would be a super easy thing to fix: just have grimoires have their own brand of corruption that isn’t affected by any form of corruption clearing. That way medkits won’t get wasted, and nothing else will change. Grims could potentially have a set amount of Permanent Corruption, and then add regular corruption over time, which can still be cleared, or they could just continually add even more Permanent Corruption the longer you carry them if you want to maintain the challenge.
(Another aside, as noted in this other thread over here, it’d be nice if grim corruption was based on a percentage of maximum health instead of a set number of hitpoints, because the current system disproportionately debuffs Psykers and Veterans)
