If you want to do all the three secret bosses in a single run then you need to do the areas in the following order after bringing the first three barrels to the central room.
-
Water Wheel
- Take 2 barrels from the central room into the water wheel area
- Cut the chain underneath to lower the first drawbridge
- Aim carefully and throw one barrel down to release the second drawbridge
- Blow up the nurgle wall with the other barrel
-
Cog Replacement
- Take the 1 remaining barrel from the central room into the cog replacement area
- Leave it at the top of this new area, go down and clear everything out so it is safe
- Do not activate the levers until after you have completed this secret
- Grab the key from the dead dwarf at the very bottom (needed for the next area)
- Grab the second barrel from a small alcove along the lower level wall
- Grab the other barrel left at top of area, and blow up the nurgle walls
-
Water Flow
- Stick to the right through the cave so you reach the upper level via a slope
- You will eventually reach an alcove part with a purple flag, the barrel is inside
- Take it over the bridge ahead, be careful as a gunner usually spawns on the other side
- The second barrel is right there behind a door next to lever, use the key to open it
- Blow up the two nurgle walls across this bridge and complete the last secret
That is pretty much it. I think you have to complete the level to get the rewards though. Don’t forget you can skip the trolls in the central area by activating the lift.

You can do the rooms in any order you like. Each section has a thing you can do that will unlock a barrel in the others. So you need 2 barrels for the first section, whichever section you choose, since nothing is open yet. After the first section, you bring one barrel to the second one since one barrel will be available there. Once you finish the second, the third has two barrels available inside. The things that unlock the barrels are:
- opening the dam – this makes it possible to pull elevator levers on the two other sections, which will bring up a barrel.
- picking up the key on the dead dwarf at the bottom of the cog section – this makes it possible to unlock all locked doors, which contain a barrel (and sometimes pickups or shortcuts)
- moving the water wheel – this breaks the plank barricades, revealing barrels (and sometimes shortcuts).
Hmm interesting, I went through this quite a bit with another player but we could only find one way to do it. We knew about the pully system in the water wheel room, and the one on the bridge in the cog room.
Maybe I should test with taking two barrels to the water flow room, then do one barrel into water wheel room and grab the spare from the pully system, and grab the two from the cog replacement room.
Tbh it is probably better to start with the water wheel room anyway, because in my opinion that is the most trickiest and getting that out the way first makes the rest of it less stressful. Doing the water flow room last is a breeze as well.
One thing I noticed is that sometimes the start of the map does not spawn three barrels, and only spawns two. Not sure if this is a bug or something?
For those who were confused about the “alcove on the lower level” in Cog, I’ve marked it with the moonfire bow. Follow the trail and the flag.
If you don’t care about getting all three at once, here are Cousin Okri’s voice lines:
- Hold on, that one wasn’t on the list! …nevermind.
- You’re just showing off now. I like it.
- We’re going to run out of trolls at this rate!
It always spawns three barrels but the locations of the barrels can vary. Sometimes you have all three barrels in the upper section, before you drop into the two-troll room, sometimes the last barrel is already in the lwo-troll room, in one of two possible locations.
There’s a video on youtube describing how to do each section, regardless of order:
