Fatshark for the love of the Emperor remove Havoc Demotions

As the title states I would like demotions removed from Havoc because.

  1. It punishes pubbing as you have no idea how good the players you are going to be playing with are and yes I know you can look at havoc rank or true level but that doesn’t mean as much as I wish it did.

  2. You can get demoted or locked out of havoc from server errors and crashes.

  3. It punishes experimentation which is one of the most fun parts of the game.

  4. It makes the endgame toxic as it changes the dynamic of the game from having fun to always clearing levels.

  5. You can lose missions to random bugs and jank like this bit of funny where I got thrown through the floor by a Chaos Spawn.

And the jank with the servers. The number of times I’ve lost ranks/attempts because the server craps out and I have to cancel the previous deployment when I get back in…

devs fear you drop the game when you reach 40 since you “cleared all the content”

keeping you low is keeping you “engaged” :man_shrugging:

when given the “choice” between havoc and expeditions

though expeditions at least had potential in its beginning, the way its set up is far from “engaging”

If removing Demotions is not an option I would suggest a middle-ground.

Make de-rank prevention a mechanic/token system called Emperors Grace.

In Practice; Players receive a specific amount per season and can earn them for ranking up or doing specific tasks. This number would be low, idk maybe 9 or 10 per season. If you fail a run you can spend an Emperors Grace token to prevent de-ranking.

(Id be curious to hear from havoc 40 players how many times they think they lose on their way to 40.)

My solution would be a middle ground as FS won’t like to admit they got it wrong.

So I suggest demotion stays but it is no longer 3 strikes. You have infinite tries within the week. At the weekly reset if you have not completed a mission equal to or greater than current then you lose a rank.

That’s it. That’s all it needs to fix it imo. People would get to experiment with builds and have fun.
