Im telling Morrow.

Btw, the background options will now have some use or is the voice still the only thing that matters?

If you’re into the concept of writing your own backstory for your operative based on these background options, then sure, otherwise I don’t actually think they affect anything other than your veteran having access to the Hardcore Cadian personality.

Does pox gas make resource gathering harder as areas will be choked off?

keep these coming. thank you

Is this the evolution of that corruption mod? I noticed it had similar changes to environment areas but the textures weren’t finished. Pretty cool.

Also glad to see blight grenades will have a bit of uniqueness to them, I look forward to cursing Nurgle’s generosity when they bounce into the game.

Hey I just had a thought.

Please don’t put bullets all over the Moebian 6th armour! I hated the fact so many of the Commissariat sets had them stuck all over. I’ve been a lasman this entire time, and always will be.

Quote from the Moebian lore stuff “The toughest damned lasmen in the Guard.”

Very annoying.

Apparently someone took my ideas from a thread brainstorming new conditions that was started a while back and has been dripping them to the developers under her own name. Now normally I would be a bit pleased (if not exactly with said person) but not right now. Aside from ObeseTuba needing a slap upside the head several times for general rudeness & hypocrisy, they forgot something.

Namely the HIGHLY IMPORTANT caveats attached to those ideas. Specificaly for this (which I called “Chemical Warfare”) players having the choice to equip or find specific equipment (gas masks, counter-agents, etc) to at least partially counter the situation at the start or throughout the mission. And that it affected the enemy as much as the players. Those caveats were there specifically so that players could A) have some measure of protection from the inevitable “AI drops the nasty stuff in a bad place then dumps a horde on you” situation and B) see it as a mixed blessing by finding ways to use the gas in their favor. This is not the condition I described. No, this is something that just is an outright “screw you players” which is exactly the opposite of interesting.

Mark my words. After the shiny new toy effect wears off this will be just like ventilation purge. Something players will deal with by avoiding the mission 90% of the time.

It also smells a bit of a desperate move to try to make the same old maps interesting, since they’re clearly unable/unwilling to produce new maps in any reasonable timescale.

But it’s not like they’ve created vast multi-solvable maps. There’s generally one alternate route between area A and B in a map - so it’s not like this condition will make people suddenly discover paths they have never seen before.

During arena/monster fights this condition might make people fight in a new part of the arena… which might seem novel? Until other area denial like firebombers and the new gasbombers limit things even further, and until a monster or a patrol forces you into the gas, and then… sounds kind of annoying.

Going through the maps manually and using gas ‘where people most often fight’ smacks of trying to disrupt things for disruptions sake. Not to mention forcing people to not fight where they like fighting sounds like… oh gosh golly, removing player agency, which is the buzzword FatShark seems to love.

More let’s say “content” is always nice but i have to ask: did FS really needed players to whine the crap out of forums for almost 2 years, to add a basic element such as character recustomisation? And they even mention it in their info blog with pride?

Well sorry to break it out to you FatTurd but adding a minimum effort total basic and common function after 2 years of players’ bitching and whining about, is definitely not “listening the community” with pride and reliability.

I’m unsure about the tox gas and will reserve judgement until playing but I’m very excited that updates are happening! Something fresh in the game is much needed.

Really hope they’re working on a few new maps next.

wait for what, death?

what Fatshark initially does will not be the zenith of what they can actually achieve, some people just need to rewrite their essays more than 3 times

awesome

I think their hardon for visibility modifiers is because they’re using it as balancing tool. It’s part of how they manage ranged/melee balance. They’re overdoing it really hard though.

Fortunately for people like me, queue dodging is a thing.

I stg they have simply been trying to get this thing to 1.0 after pushing it out the door 2-3 years too soon for their glacial development pace.
