When I try to use the Data Interrogator the game doesn’t recognize my inputs for primary fire. It perfectly recognizes my inputs for all other keys. Outside of the Data Interrogator there are no problems. The problem persisted even after a clean reinstall.
Just wanted to add the same suddenly happened to me about a week ago or so, with no data interrogators working since - except for 1 time randomly just like with Funuki.
I use mouse and keyboard on Steam with the default keybinds, and have never installed any mods - I only bought the game a few weeks ago. I verified the integrity of my game files and even made a new character, but the issue persists. Like Funuki, the data interrogator opens and the outlined section moves back and forth just fine, but clicking with the primary action does nothing. I’ve even tried clicking before or after it would actually line up in case it was some kind of delay problem, but still no dice. I can exit the interrogator fine as well.
I don’t think this is a common issue as everyone else in my games seem to be okay, but it is fairly debilitating since my team can’t count on me to solve the data-interrogator which has led to losses
If you could try pressing the jump button (default ‘space bar’), shoot button (default ‘mouse left’) and interact button (default ‘E’) next time you are stuck in the data interrogator and see if any of them solves makes it work again (and report it back here) that would be greatly appreciated!
I just tried this, it looks like pressing the E button worked for me while jump and shoot did not work. I’m glad at least E works, thats a good workaround for now!
I think the problem is the game thinks you are holding one of these buttons, and while that is down none of the input will be registered. By clicking the button that the game thinks you are holding down it should be reset and all buttons should work.
What button where you using before? After getting one button to work, do the other buttons work?
I’ll see about making making sure all the buttons works separately for the future, though the cause still eludes me so help is appreciated.
It looks like your suspicion is correct - testing today, after using the E button I was then able to use the regular left mouse click (primary action, the button I originally used when I found this issue) and spacebar (jump) inside the data interrogator.
As long as I initially use the E button, all the other buttons work. It makes sense E would be the key it thinks I am holding, because you have to hold E to open the data interrogator UI - it must think I am still holding E for some reason even after the UI opens.
