Darktide x Fractal x Mionix Steam Swedish Midsummer Giveaway

The chair is nice but it says tons more about the company and where Fatshark’s priorities are that they can’t offer enough aquilas.

When an outfit is 2400 aquilas, you arent actually giving us anything out of this, FS. You’re just holding aquilas in escrow until we pay you.

C’mon, man. Strawhat, it feels like everybody but you is asleep at the wheel.

Meh ! Don’t have Twitter, don’t want to make an account just for that.

Also i see why people are not super satisfied with the amount of Aquilas, even if i never ever buy a full set since the most interesting is the chest, 9 out of 10 pants are reskins or ugly and hats are ok-ish but most of the time overpriced (1300 for some ?! Come on …).

there is no way i’m going to join elon’s nazi funhouse, though those are nice prices. what did you guys do with the code redemption thing on the darktide page, or did you just lose track of how to use it?

fans entering for the other stuff don’t give a crap about darktide’s paid currency. this isn’t just about darktide and the prizes reflect that. this is hopefully gonna get more people to look at darktide’s PC offering.

My good sir Jakal: again we find ourselves, generally, in agreement. Also on Elon, which is nice.

Doubly so when they screwed everyone who got the Imperial edition when they raised the prices of skin bundles to 2900 for the ‘iconic’ cosmetics. This is just tone deaf and wilfully blind.

You dont have to like twitter or Elon to follow those accounts. It takes 5 minutes tops. I promise, it wont turn you into an evil nazi.

First, thank you everyone for the feedback.

While we can’t change the whole mechanism of the giveaway since we’ve already started, we can still make some changes.

  • The amount of aquilas awarded is now 2,900.
  • We will not use Gleam for any future giveaways.
  • If we use Twitter in any future giveaways, we’ll also include other platforms or emails as acceptable entries. We’ll also make sure to include how we will not be keeping or using any players’ data in the T&Cs. (We’re open to more feedback on this point and how you’d prefer the mechanisms to operate for entering a giveaway :+1: )

TY StrawHat.

If current system remains then please can you explain it to me like I’m a boomer?

Do we need to log in to gleam itself before clicking links?

If the twitter links to an old account that I don’t use then are my entries still counted?

How is the winner contacted?

You would access your Twitter account through Gleam by clicking the +1 button. It will redirect you to Twitter so you can follow the account.

Even if you don’t use the account much, the entries will count just the same.

The winner will be announced on socials, and normally we’ll ask them to DM us on Twitter or to DM me on Discord, this forum, etc.*

Edit: Because Gleam asks for your email address, we’ll likely contact you that way.

Genuinely didn’t expect this. Well done.

OK thanks  Winners will be announced here and then we can figure out how to get to you.

Just to confirm though please - can we click the gleam link above and then click on the 3 twitter links and follow, without first logging in to gleam? Do we need to log into gleam before clicking the twitter links or will the follows count even if we are not logged into gleam?

Confirmed: You don’t need to log in to Gleam.

As long as you are logged into Twitter on your device, and then click the +1 on the Gleam page, it’ll work. It’ll redirect you to the Twitter page you need to follow.

It’ll then ask you to put in your Twitter username after you press +1, after which this pops up

You will need to put a name and then your email address. Then it will count. (See the blue check?)

OK thank you. Strange as it didn’t offer me a place to enter my name etc. Maybe because my twitter is so old and unused.

I’ll try and figure it out. Thanks for the swift replies.

Pity its twitter, never gonna use that.

i don’t think gleam is in any way the problem there, i’ve entered other giveaways using it and had no issues (or wins, might be related? :stuck_out_tongue: ) it’s just this is, “use twitter to follow us” and boss, most people don’t like twitter anymore.

which is impressive, considering how omnipresent it was until it got bought out.
edit: it would actually be interesting to see how engagement with this actually plays out, thinking about it.

Okay but seriously.

  1. Rapid turnaround and response to criticism in good faith?
  2. Making promises to open things up next time and not make the same mistakes?
  3. Actually increasing rewards of the funny money???

Okay @FatsharkStrawHat , if you’ve got the boardroom at gunpoint right now, please let us know. This is the only chance we might have to get free Aquilas for PC players and earnable ones in-game and we should take advantage of it!

farming follows to push the upcoming port, I understand. The disrespectful RNG system lingers but may be fixed by ps port time. might hold some new players above the 4k

Strawhat, you’re solid as hell. Thank you.

As an FYI I don’t think people are bothered by Gleam, that’s whatever. Twitter, folks are opposed to at this point. And the stinginess of aquilas was a sore point.

But you guys went and addressed the issue as immediately as you could and we’re all thankful and impressed.

now first of all, i get from your companies perspective the benefit of product placement/give away cooperation/follower increase kinda thing.

and though i dont create an account for the sake of participating on platforms i never use, good luck to all giving it a shot.

on the the second part and reason i give my 2 cents in the first place.

honestly i’ve been pondering if and how to write this as to not come off sobby or " wrong ".

for the next “giveaway” i propose taking a good look at the guys and gals here on the forums, investing their time and energy to collect and cover important thoughts, critique and options of improvement.

mainly but not limited to “certain memorials and grudgy tomes”

now for the sake of not starting another “xbox aquila debacle” i don’t expect an answer to my post here or any public reaction.

but some custom portrait/weapon skin/trinket or ingame appreciation (no real money expense) would be a unique way of appreciation of the most constructive/invested fan base.

for here’s the thing, coming from a loooong line of great games and a time where developers weren’t so easily reached (14 year old me would have been awe struck exchanging ideas with romero or carmack) this here game has the equal potential of true greatness and we got the chance to offer input and thought for improvement.

this combination, in my opinion, is more than enough reason to aknowledge those contributing above and beyond and help make the overall “voice” heard.

sure, such giveaway doesnt create followers but giving thanks to the playerbase isnt “nothing”

so much for my thought on the matter, again in no ways meant to downplay the current giveaway :+1:
