I really wish more devs would support flickstick/(controller gyro aiming) natively or at least allow simultaneous mouse and controller aiming. Keyboard controls can be mapped to gamepad but then navigating menus becomes a complete nightmare.
For those who dont know, flickstick maps absolute directions to the right stick. Instead of down on the stick moving the pointer down, the character will face 180 degrees. Right on the stick, rather than turn the character to the right, will face the character 90 degrees to the right. This allows for fast turning like we have with mouse and keyboard and makes space for the gyro to control only fine cursor movements.

Introducing Flick Stick in DOOM - YouTube
I’ve been using flickstick for about a year now and it makes playing on a controller feel like I have the capability of mouse and keyboard. Its a paradigm shift forward in FPS controls for gamepad.
Right now, when switching between mouse and controller inputs there is a delay which makes setup of a flickstick super cumbersome because keyboard keys need to be mapped to the controller and then menu prompts are wrong, menu movement is jank, etc. I understand the delay might be to prevent mouse players from taking advantage of the auto aim of controller setups but there has to be a better way. Just turn off the auto aiming feature of controller if mouse input is detected or better yet, implement good gyro controls instead of hamstrung controller aim assist.
Is anyone else a little butthurt that gyro controls aren’t being supported?
