Just failed this mission because as usual all the team mates turn into labotomised NPCs as soon as that challenging event area starts. I lay a med kit next to the stairs in the centre then i press the button and then I tell team where to go and then I head there and die trying to do the objectives myself.
It just makes me not want to play this map. I really enjoy the map but that particular event area turns people into complete idiots who just run around like headless chickens and don’t even attempt to get to the objectives areas or stick together.
Heaven forbid people in auric should have to press a button or stick with team or do an objective.
Just keep running around on your own getting killed in a room that has endless enemies from all angles then. Great.
This part is not hard. I played it solo yesterday (heresy difficulty - wanted just to complete achieve 8 missions). Bots have suffered (i give them a medikit) but still when you know what to do it is not difficult, especially at 4 players (and even in damnation difficulty). You just have to not take your time and always pay attention to the objectives.
This is a short event if you really pay attention to what you have to do.
The part that was more difficult was the time you have to hack. In fact the last event has an RNG part, this is not always same actions required. And there is one that requires to hack. When you have to rely on bots… this part is (a little) difficult .
so few missions without hacking games…
its the wrong spot, no wonders they didn’t listen, the right spot would be at the spawn point totem, especially if you are playing with noobs, its the only place you can deny line of fire from most of gunners
Nah, I placed it at the bottom of the stairs nearest to the player rescue spawn. It’s got cover and near the objective. If you place it far from objective then the n00bs will never do anything
quite a bit of matches started with an empty lobby and up until the point were the headless faction spawned in, at least the bots were where they’re supposed to be and kept sticking together.
2 minutes later every one of the 3 handicaps managed to die in different corners before they alt-f4’d in frustration.
not saying auric maelstrom is better with bots but bots are better than 60% of the playerbase it seems.
How do you play solo without mods? I don’t understand.
And no I don’t agree it’s easier as it’s entirely at the mercy of teammate ability. If your teammates just stay over the far corner of the map playing by themselves with zero interest in the objective then it is obviously way harder than having bots who stay with you and can revive you easier than real players.
Not even sure what your point it.
“It’s easy”. Yeah ok buddy lol. It’s a notoriously easy section that absolutely no one has any gripes with whatsoever. It’s damn easy if you have team mates cove ryou whilst you do the objectives otherwise you’re just a bullet sponge for the entire time it takes to sink one of those canisters. There is no break or pause in enemy spawns so it relies on teammate cover.
What’s even the point in saying that though? I have a real experience level of over 360 or something and many hundreds of hours, like many people in these forums. I’m not fresh off the boat.
No need to hit the “it’s easy I’m an amazing player” ego deck.
Now, try a damnation map with just the bots and tell me if it is easier. They are great against a chaos spawn, against a DH or even a pest ogryn. They suck against crushers and nurgle beast (they can’t parry).
But worse than everything else, you have to kill 80% (see the scoreboard I posted) of the enemies. But, you can waste ammos like you want…
It is really easy if you pay attention to the event. You just have two things to do, 3 times (or 2, not sure the number of times it repeats, I would say 2). The event is really short.
Sure the uncovered space can disturb several players, but as pointed by several, you have places where you can stay when the energy charges (each energy node is powered and after all are powered you have to manually override the generators).
So yes, this is not an hard event. This is just that usually players are splitting everywhere and don’t pay attention to what is required to complete it.
This is literally the thing I’m talking about though. This is the thing that makes it either easy or difficult. It is the difficulty variable.
The event itself is neither easy nor difficult as it’s so reliant on other players.
If you play a solo mod then we can’t discuss difficulty anyway as you’re playing a different game to me. I don’t play mods.
If you complain the game is easy then please don’t play with bots or mods. Bots can revive you in the middle of a total sh!tstorm whereas players would be downed.
That’s a different topic anyway though. This topic is that frustrating event on the map that turns players into headless chickens.
I don’t think Relendil is bragging or anything. I agree with a lot of his points. Do I think the big room is difficult? Yes, compared to other events in the game it’s a pretty challenging one. Do I wipe there? Only once. Usually wipe in the beginning where surprise pox bursters came out of nowhere combined with the amount of barrels that can really mess things up. I understand that you can disable them but it’s annoying to wait for fire.
I’m fine with the big room but I have to say that after the big room leading up to the end it’s still challenging in different ways and the map is the most fun compared to all others. The only part that I don’t like is the beginning.
I don’t play a solo mod… I play solo games. So same game like you but without teammates. But I play also with random teammates.
That’s just I train myself in solo sessions to be able to play these missions alone… like that I can loot all I want without having to run after a team. That’s my goal.
But this permitted me to discover missions from an other perspective cause, in solo, you have to push all buttons, hack everything and even sometimes you have to free the bots (don’t know why but sometimes they don’t free bots netted). In fact, you do everything… this is great to see all aspects of one mission.
I have seen guys that are splitting everywhere, I have even made it myself (especially first times I entered this area).
But playing solo mission permits you to focus on what you have to do. And then, it is obvious this event is not hard.
There are harder events in darktide.
This one does not even requires you to hack!
This is just cause players have not understood it fully. Once they will, this event will really look easy.
idk i personally think its completely fine. The first open area has enough side spots where you can hold and even push forward without getting barreled and while the first event is on the harder side i don’t think I’ve seen a wipe there even once despite having some nail biters.
There are easily worse and more boring maps in the rotation.
