It has been out for a while but man it is absolutely brutal. The cliff deaths at the start are real. Every step feels like a struggle. If there are monsterous specials those cliffs become run enders. I really enjoy the challenge here because it’s so unfair. Not everyone agrees with me on that but I’m not here to play ‘everyone gets a nap and a snack.’ I know where those are. I want the chance to make decisions and plays that make a difference in my team coming through the match. Every map is beatable with the right team, and that is part of what drives me.
Now, if we could just get our Glorious Matron Hadron, the omnissiah bless her name, to give us a tour of the workings of the foundry while we fight our way through I would feel so blessed. Maybe with some more of Kayex 8’s sonorous tones mixed in? I think it’d be perfect!
Yeah, my only issue with Gloriana is the fact that so so so SO many people go into it with the ‘literally every other map’ mentality, and then just get absolutely stomped and chain leave and it’s like ‘come onnnn at least auto leave after load in if you aren’t good enough for it, I wanna have fun here!’
So often I find myself desperately soloing my way in a loop around the various internal/external sections or doing the same in the big engine room, holding my own against the onslaught trying to end me, desperately hoping for a functional member of the team to at least duo our way to victory.
But, can’t say even those moments aren’t thrilling. My best time in this game I think was getting my first havoc 40 clear on Clandestium Gloriana, walking in with ‘that perfect team’ that still had moments where we dropped, and ‘clutch plays’ needing to occur with half the team wiped and needing to sprint to pillars before the horde caught up. But name can one truly feel alive in those moments, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
Shame it’s only one mission, and a vast majority of the player base have no idea how to deal with it, but when you get those cleared runs, shamck chef’s kiss.
If they were to do less maps but consistently hit as high as Clandestium I don’t think there would be any complaints. I usually hop on if I see it on a decent modifier, then rehost it a couple times as different characters while QP still applies. Its hard to get tired of a map with a dynamic end event and difficult rooms.
Curious. In my experience way more runs that decide to go into the tunnels to fight end prematurely because you get trapped in a tiny space with too little space to dodge or move. Usually because 1 or more monstrosities combines with flamers, bursters, and bombers to AOE everyone down. And the tunnels are full of flamable barrels that cover the entire tunnels.
Greatly depends, both can be deadly, but outdoors tends to be more deadly, as that is highly susceptible to BS knock offs where as inside it’s just purely based on your teams ability to clear.
I will say, for the inside portion with the drop down section, DON’T do that and go to the right instead if you have to, as the drop down is an absolute death sentence due to not being able to back up.
And otherwise, usually ‘staying at/just within’ the doorways is the best way to go, as you CAN still force an exit if you have to due to the reasons you mentioned, while still focusing all the enemies down chokes so they can easily be destroyed. Getting ‘caught in the middle’ can be a very unfortunate pain point without super high mobility weaponry.
in havoc can be dangerous there yea i agree, cause may pretty much trigger both spawns such as scab captain + bon
i usually take the risky path cause bosses can spawns there and possible to ledge them down, including scab captain if there is very good positioning. but in auric usually chill
