From a realism standpoint, the “Chemical Dependency” skill shouldn’t start its cooldown the moment you jab that stim—it should kick in after the stim’s effects wear off. Here’s the thing: calling it “chemical dependency” while having the cooldown trigger immediately is a bit backwards. Logically, withdrawal symptoms wouldn’t hit while the chemicals are still actively pumping through your veins. If the cooldown starts right after injecting, it feels less like “chemical dependency” and more like “Needle Craving” or “Withdrawal Pangs”—a psychological itch for the next jab rather than a biochemical come-down.
As it stands, the current design contradicts both intuition and basic pharmacology. If the skill is meant to reflect chemical dependency, the cooldown should align with the substance leaving the system—not with the act of injection itself. Tweaking the trigger to post-effect would better match the implied “science” in the skill name and make the mechanic feel more grounded. Until then, maybe rename it to something that honestly reflects the mechanic: “Needle Craving” or “Withdrawal Pangs” would at least be upfront about the weirdly instant penalty.
