Chain-weapons yanking the camera on unrevved attacks is nausea-inducing

Your camera tilts down by around 40° in this video, but it is a bit hard to tell, because the attacks also push you backwards.

The easiest way to show what i mean, is probably to plonk down a reaper and look straight up into the sky.
You will see that taking a hit when at 0% toughness, will tilt your camera ~20% down.
There seems to be a grace period of ~2s, where further damage taken does not tilt you any further. The next hit taken after that grace period, will tilt you again (you can do this as veteran with suppression immunity talent in oder to show that this is not caused by suppression).
After getting shot at for a while, you will be looking at the floor.
Now it is 100% certain, that your camera actually tilted down, and it does not only seem like you were tilted, because the attack pushed you around.

Reapers only seem to tilt you, if they hit your health. Melee attacks apparently also tilt you when hitting your toughness.
Different enemies tilt you by different amounts. Dreg shooters barely tilt you at all.

If the server had a hickup, taking multiple melee hits at the same time (like in the OP) might cause this grace period to be ignored, causing you to instantly look at the floor.
That is what i initially thought was happening.

However, since OP was using TWBS, which makes you stagger immune, it must have been something else.

I have not used weapons with “sticky” attacks a lot.
There might be some weird interactions, when getting hit while sawing through an enemy.

I’ve wondered if it doesn’t have something to do with the DoT since I get occasional similar behavior with the purgatus staff. I’ll apply a whole buch of DoTs and then my camera goes straight up.

Given that if I’d been hit that many times in a game I’d have been dead ten times over, I’m going to guess that yes, you’re right, it was probably something else.

Yes. Without a hickup causing the grace period to be ignored, you would obviously have died a few times before your camera tilts 90°.

Okay, here’s a much better example of what I’m talking about in the OP.

You can download OBS for free and it has a record button totally seperate from streaming. Just set up a scene and add a desktop capture source, I think thats all you need for simple captures. It then saves the file as an MKV which you can edit (or not, I dont cos Im lazy af ) and upload to youtube or some other similar website.

I think its worth doing, even tho I know its a bother. Having more demonstrations of this effect might allow us to get to the bottom of when or how it happens and if its intended or not.

I deffo recall some slight camera movement, but nothing like I saw in the video, thats very extreme.

There could be any number of things going on, from specific hardware like video cards or specific controller methods, input lag etc. Im not really knowledgable enough to extrapolate properly.

The only thing thats similar as an in-game mechanic that I do know of, is in Vermintide 2 where a Bestigor charges you and causes your camera to tilt about 45 degrees down (or up sometimes?) and makes you duck, but then returns a small amount to center I think.

Iv never installed mods for Darktide and Im always hesitant to install mods on an online PvE game with no official support. I may have to at least install the psykanium mod, because I really do want to be able to practice against certain situations and expecially vs Daemonhosts which I still tend to die too quickly to.

tl:dr Im quite certain the camera is not meant to do this and that it only happens to some people makes me think that even more.

Could a CM look in to or pass this on? and maybe we could get a more official answer that this is intended behaviour and just rare for some, or not intended behaviour thats worth digging deeper in to peoples specs etc. Could someone at the relevant CM? I am so attentive (j/k) that I dont actually know who I should at in the thread to gain attention (I once just atted all the fs peeps I could, some of whome no longer operate on the forums  )

Sorry for the wall btw!
