Battle For Tertium changed the visuals and for the first time I've getting motion sickness

I did one mission after the update and I could immediately feel the difference in visuals. Before this update I’ve put in almost 2200 hours and have never felt like this before. Something feels different with the FOV but I can’t be sure. I’ve double checked the motion blur is still off. The FOV slider doesn’t seem to have moved but the FOV feels wrong now. Not sure if there’s simply a lot more FOV changes while running around or if it’s something else entirely but the update actually makes the game feel very different in a very bad way.

I only had time to hop in the meat grinder but everything looked the same. Have you checked that your settings didn’t reset? Did you have a custom FOV over the default allowable 85?

I’ve doubled checked my FOV slider and it’s set to HFOV 97 and VFOV65. I’ve never used any form of mod for this game.

I noticed this too, I started to feel sick when switching sprint, is it possible to somehow disable it in the game or with a mod?
This situation was already described a long time ago in this topic, it seems they brought it back into the game

I just try to choose my mission as fast as I can, so I don’t get sick. :joy:

The Mourningstar isn’t a problem, it’s in the actual mission.

I think the FOV might be changing a lot more drastically than it used to. I don’t know a lot about modding this game but unless the devs change it back to what it was a few days ago I need to hope a mod let’s me actually keep playing. Darktide might be my favorite game of all time, it would be sad to have to stop playing because a change in visuals is making me motion sick.

I had no problems playing yesterday, man. Think this might be a you problem.

I was playing, stopped for an hour, the update came out, felt it 5 seconds in. Also other people are reporting it so it’s not a me problem.

I’ve added a mod called ConstantFov from nexusmods. Fixed the problem for me. Shame that I have to fall to using mods to fix this issue but hopefully it can help you as well.

Though I am sensitive to motion sickness in games I haven’t had this particular problem since the update yet. Though I did notice that the better performance clientside made it feel like there’s mouse smoothing on. That only lasted till the servers started crapping out again and it’s back to being a jittery mess.

Thank you very much my friend! I will check it tonight, yesterday I couldn’t play more than one mission because of nausea.

I’ve not played in probably a couple of months?

But I thought the game lightning had changed quite noticeably on me; the mission to poison the tree (Hab Dreyko) - it was much darker all round with lots of very bright fires giving strong contrast. Made spotting enemies a lot harder than I recall.

I’ll probably play a few more and see if it’s my imagination. But I wouldn’t be surprised if graphics settings have been reset to a default.

A while back there did seem to be a lighting change. I’ve had a friend that recently returned to the game comment on it as well. Overall the game does seem a little darker but I can’t tell if it’s just me or if there are fewer light sources or something else entirely.
