No. Look at FSā track record. DLC classes and weapons will be shamelessly OP. Then dialed down a bit after a year or so.
Either way, theyāll be ābalancedā for a few weeks with virtually everyone playing as them! No oneās OP if everyoneās OP!
I have no problems with new features being more or less unbalanced because some things need to be in the wild to be assessed thoroughly.
That said, with such a pessimistic entitled attitude of yours Iād recommend to play something else for maybe half a year and then come back to see if your tea leaves where right.
New weapons look really weak to me, will have to wait to see new talents tho. Dog looks way weaker then skellys tho since they donāt take agroā¦
Also have to wait to see the classes base dmg reduction, ms, toughness, etc.
If I had a prediction, Havoc 40 meta will be to get rid of Dog.
I think shield+maul and shield+revolver are two different weapons. Swapping between them would feel like you only swapped your main hand, and imo is a cool idea.

Imagine now plasma that kills that same amount in a straight line with also bodying crushers
Or why even shoot into a horde? When vets infinite grenades kills that entire mob three times over and staggers anything short of a boss (or just kills it as rending on a melee weapon counts for a grenade bleed?)

Power Maul and shield definitely is cool , and its nice there is an option to no have to permanently cringeslideā¦
(god how much i HATE that f-cking slide and how not optional/situational it is - and that it requires a mod so the game remembers you are running after you slide)
But lets be honest ⦠is that combo knife/ds good? No
And no matter how much some people try to pretend its ok to have knife/ds.
Havoc exists purely because these + couple talents + couple blessings interactions are so above and beyond anything else (several peoples worth of damage combined), that anything not this good will never see the light of day in non meme/challenge run havoc.
(yea, remove havoc as well it exists because instead of nerfing blatantly OP sh-it, made a mode for them)

Exact punishment with extreme prejudice: Muscle forwards with reinforced Assault Shields and a choice of Dominator Maul or Arbites Shotpistol - Darktideās first defense/range combo. For tougher targets, the Arbites Shotgun packs a unique punch with its Special Issue ammunition.
i hope if you have that maul and pistol the shield stays functional as you swap the other.
Little concerned with the weapon choices, i mean 1h mauls and shotguns not in a great place right now. hope they are doing some work on those types.

Yeah, Shock Mauls are pretty solid. I think that theyād be decently popular if Duelling Swords and Combat Blades werenāt insanely OP.

Hope FS considered pox bursters, you wouldnāt want auto-attack on those. They have a nasty habit of spawning very close compared to other elites.

The weapons sound nice but they look to hit as hard as a cloud of confetti..
With same old enemies and same old maps. Iāll take anything new at this point.
If they introduced a class that has even higher single target damage than Zealot and Ogryn. Then balance would really be leaning.
Looking forward to building upon this idea for this class. What happens and can I choose not to have dog and not to have shield and spec into complete anti-armour single target damage. Defence wise Zealot has lots of damage reduction nodes and Ogryn has lots of instant toughness regen, where would it sit in this.
Iām calling it here. I bet this has not been taken into account. Bursters can spawn close without needing exit doors around blind corners. Dogs will be triggering them automated unless something in place to make them ignore.
