i’ve done over half the penances in the game.
No offense, but that doesn’t mean much just by itself. “I use a knife tell me what gun I should use for horde clear” sounds like inexperience, you gave us nothing else to go on.
i’m by no means new and i have leveled up every class to 30 and beyond and i’ve been playing since the beta, i even have the helmet to back it up. i have the memento mori helm, the beta company helm, and the 1st mancunio campaign helm. i also have the portrait frames to back it up. just because i don’t want to use a melee for horde clear and i don’t want to use the flamethrower either, doesn’t mean i haven’t been playing since before the official release of the game or anything, it just means that i’m trying to use something that isn’t melee for hordes.
Well no. Your point now about newbie-friendliness is good. But your arguments here have had nothing to do with their accessibility or ease-of-use. You just object to the shotties bc you obviously don’t know how they work, and for whatever reason you don’t much care for any evidence or arguments to the contrary, nevermind learning better.
But this clearly isn’t going anywhere so enough about that. For anyone else interested, we’ve said our piece. Shotguns aren’t easy to learn to use to their full potential, but if you got the blessings they’re an excellent choice for mixed horde clear for those who want it. Zellies have no better choices (well flamer yes but at a serious cost of range, ammo economy, mobility etc), vets have plasma but as OP as it is that thing has its own challenges and doesn’t really synergize with crit / weakspot builds all that well.
Well, tbh I have never asked to kick someone… I prefer to put them on the block list.
But if I reach the max number, then I would start to propose to kick people.
Someone wasting all ammos on hordes and stealing all ammos, as a normal consequence of wasting ammos, here I would be in favor to kick this player.
Just telling what I think.
just only use a gun while in the middle of a horde instead of on every enemy, done and dusted.
New shotgun or flamer are really the only ones i would waste my time with for horde clear. I guess braced autos can technically do it but personally i think you are wasting ammo if its just used for horde clearing.
You could also use incendiary grandes if you need that occasional horde clearing for say reviving.
But really Zealot if anyone should have the melee kit to deal with basically anything that comes to melee range. Even with a knife.
Wasting ammo? Please, there is more ammo around the map then most teams will ever need.
In my entire 300 hours i’ve practically almost never felt like ammo was a scarce resource. And knife zealot with horde clear shotgun is my 2nd main.
(helbore vet is first)
Actually there have been people complaining that ammo is too common in the game.
I dunno, changing the shredder to a short range high dps gun that excels at non-flak/carapace would be ideal to match with something like the knife in current meta. The only flak enemies are melee, with other elites only having patches of it other than the scab gunner, so it would make a lot of sense for that sort of pairing.
makes perfect sense to me, maybe they should change the shredder to this and then release a new autopistol of some kind?
Same… but I visit all chests and still… I have seen games where we have run out of ammos cause someone wasted them… seen that with boltgun used in auto fire on hordes, seen that with flamer used from the start to the time where the guys has run out of ammo, etc.
Ah… Then you are a clear case of someone with a bad luck.
Or maybe its a regional thing? What continent are you playing on?
Im playing on the european server and almost never run into the situation you’re describing.
Yes there have been a few but barely enough to be even worth mentioning let alone consider it a problem.
Actually hold that thought. Im going to make a poll later and put this case to rest.
Europe also.
Random always.
Hmm, then a poll must be made. One of us has either had good or bad luck with randoms.
I enjoy the braced autoguns.
Not read the whole thread but I hope someone has suggested the bolter (not the pistol).
Pretty good at decimating hordes and not much else. Although chopping down hordes with melee is the most fun in the game imo… Just take the revolver for the heavies then tear into the crowd with an evicerator for some chunky satisfaction ![]()
Not sure why you’d want to waste bullets on chaff ![]()
See this is what your arguments boil down to: fire shot good: “you just don’t know how to use them”. This tricks greener players into thinking they can make good use of them, and I’m saying there’s no magic bullet here as it were. I’m saying it will hinder them, considerably, when they can make better choices in either weapons or tactics.
It’s the same old thing with pre-recently buffed recons, now bolt pistols and still relatively nerfed and actually nerfed fire shotguns “so good bro, you just don’t know how to use them” and any “demonstration” on how to use them falls on its face.
Yeah, we’ve said our peace…
Those are not the only choices. One might also be observing the in-game happenings better and/or reporting them accurately.
Edit: Oh and play-time, 300 vs 2000+.
This still happens and occasionally the ammo hog main character gets booted after many pleas to share. The funny things is, the fire shotgun zealot is at the top of the offender list, and it’s usually paired with a knife.
Why are you so hung up on the fire shot anyway? On average you’d only use it like 4-6 times in the entire game.
Like when you need to snipe a sniper thats way too far and you can only get it by burning them. Or when you’re bored during an elevator ride. Or when a beast of nurgle just wouldnt bloody face away from you and cant get the weakspot.
Its like saying the axe/tactical axe is bad because its special poke cannot be used all the time.
Or that the knife is terrible because the punch is only good for staggering ragers.
Maybe that’s why you feel like shotguns are terrible. Because you keep thinking the special is a must use while in reality the opposite is true. Its a SPECIAL after all, you’re supposed to use it on specific relatively rare situations.
