Amount of specials/elites

but a setting that you struggle with while others enjoy should be altered or even removed to suit your “needs” instead of picking something else from a long list of options ?

this aint personal, its about leaving the few things that make the game stand out and unique intact.

needs obstacles that check for physical capabilities like twitch reflexes, aim, map knowledge etc.
if fast paced gameplay doesn’t do that than i dont know what does.
:man_shrugging:

we wont see eye to eye in this, just took it up to voice the opposite opinion, lest we end with a watered down game down the road if no one contradicts.

far too many “only buff” threads already.

besides if full health ogryn is now considered meta i must have been in a coma for quite some time :squinting_face_with_tongue:

it shows that whats considered impossible for some is childs play for those who devote themselves to getting better/the best.
this takes a level of dedication 99%of people lack.
they aint physically disabled or slow in the head if it comes to reflexes per se, they are just lazy.
in any case, they by definition are never going to achieve such heights

in vt2 i did all 160 weave (real chaos), true duo FOW, modded true trio fow cataclysm 3, death wish onslaught with twitch mode, and other difficulties like dutch spice etc

vt2 vanilla is challenging because how deadlier are specials, and balance is tuned well and not crazy like in dt, but if enemies were spammed it wouldnt be an issue either way, cause you can see above even if you crank it up its not an issues… even twitch 200% mode even if there’s forced chaos it’s not that it’s going to be a problem if you know how to kiting and overwhelm the overwhelming. if you would try fow cataclysm let alone, you would see how chaotic it can get at the end. but very possible to embrace the chaos and not get overwhelmed still

I, and many others before me, were able to clear Aurics when they were harder and before these/without these things.

So, unless post patch 13 everything is cheese to you, I think you just need to have a sobering look in the mirror that you’re not as ready for Auric as you may think.

I also lament the loss of Auric Heresy for many folks that would probably feel much better there, of which I suspect maybe you’re one.

chordclaw new delete boss button :speaking_head: :fire:

so funny doing the final fantasy 9999999 dmg to a DH just like that

(not actually funny, another broken thing)

that i could see its unyielding damage getting nerfed while being it good only for carapace only maybe, which would be the most reasonable thing to do

ogryn ridge farm rembers 5 talents, sah.
still did beat punies darn gud in auric histg and shock troop when there was nothing higher at the time

I agree with you here, we’re at an impasse. I think the current expression of skill is badly designed, you do not. I think it should be changed, and we simply like different games.

Though again I do agree that player power needs a massive nerf as well in order to bring the chaos down.
Let’s leave it at that.

From my perspective, Tide games are clearly not designed for casual players. The depth of their gameplay, the mechanical complexity, and the amount of game knowledge they require make that pretty obvious.

I suspect that for most console players, as well as many casual PC players, Heresy or Damnation is where they realistically reach their limit.

The problem is that most players judge difficulty the same way they would in a typical game. Once they reach level 30 and Auric becomes available, they assume, “This must be the difficulty I’m supposed to play.”

Then Auric completely overwhelms them. Instead of thinking, “Maybe I’m not skilled enough yet,” they conclude that “the game is simply too difficult,” and start calling for buffs to every weapon and class.

Personally, I don’t think Auric should unlock at level 30. To me, it’s a difficulty that should be aimed at players who have spent at least 500 hours learning and mastering the game.

In the end, I’d say this is Fatshark’s fault. The game’s progression does a poor job of guiding players toward the difficulty level that’s actually appropriate for their experience.

Again, it’s not about difficulty. It’s about game design.

So Havoc then?

If it wasn’t such a damn hassle to play x)

The discord helps.

Chordclaw might doornail 3-5 enemies at most, maybe more if its all the lowest tier mooks. Each charge is on a 30 second cooldown, roughly… it varies.

Same CD and a Desperado Scummer can literally wipe the screen for free three-four times over… and that is considered the weakest ability for Scum.

And Zealot can instakill any boss on a 20sec CD. Zealot can also freeze the battlefield every 30-35 seconds while making the team largely invulnerable.

At this point, so many abilities are far more powerful than Chordclaw. And the current game design, enemy spawns and numbers are designed around having OP abilities. And if people think the opposite…
I got a challenge. Go from High Intensity Auric to Havoc 40, stream it and upload it. Ban all Abilities, Blitzes, Blessings and weapons that are considered too strong. A list that is agreed upon by the community. No one in the team gets to use any of them. I am legit curious to see how far its possible to go without anything “OP”, just skill.

Oh yeh, and no mods either… just vanilla gameplay.

Auric is not unlocked at lvl 30 mate. You have to win X amount of games on Damnation before it becomes available, and before that X amount of games on Heresy to get Damnation.

All difficulties are like that at the moment. At least for me…

Nobody plans in base vermintide, the game is not difficult enough to require more than w key left click

Pretty common problem actually. HD2 devs have said they won’t make more difficulties because their casual players will want the same casual experience at th new max difficulty.

A developer can only solve it by adding native mod support and letting a community come out from that

What gets me are the Specials. For me, the problem isn’t that they can appear anywhere, anytime. It’s that when they do they’re usually immediately dispatched. And so’s the next one, and the next one, and the next one. Rather than special, they’re an annoying shooting-gallery minigame.

Sometimes one gets in a good position, and sometimes you get a small horde that’s a real problem, but for the most part they’re potato chips consumed too fast to even give a satisfying crunch.
