Unlucky For Some - it’s never ideal to take a talent that’s only active on another teammate’s demise. However, things can go sideways in a split second and there will be times Psykers may need to clutch.
This talent fix encourages players to play to the Psykers ability to move and attack quickly - which is essential for clutching as a Psyker, and rewards reviving teammates with toughness to all members in Coherency.
As for Warp Rupture, it’s clear Venting Shriek is meant to be an offensive stagger attack. With this new Warp Rupture fix, Shriek will now apply up to a 50% Brittleness debuff to all enemies affected by Shriek. This adds an anti armor alternative - available to all teammates - to Creeping Flame’s anti horde.
If you do that then Warp Rupture becomes the clear winner compared to Creeping Flames. It’s easy to tear through a horde of trash mobs, less so for armor, so a gigantic 60% Brittle debuff would be way too strong.
It should be an alternative that isn’t simply “more damage” - for example, my idea was to have it force a knockdown on all enemies hit by it.
It already has a stagger though even with Creeping Flames. Perhaps less Brittleness and a longer stagger. The second option for Venting Shriek should be some sort of anti armor.
Creeping Flames would still be a viable option, yes trash mobs are easy to wipe but sometimes psykers want to run a melee that doesn’t have great cleave. CF also allows Psykers to effectively fight multiple battles at once, which is important on the higher difficulties. CF synergizes well with other talents that make use of soulblaze as well.
