? What did I say that was so bad, lol. Fine let’s agree to disagree.
Misunderstood your butting sentence, mea culpa.
I try to pick talents in my builds to solve problems, as far as I can identify them.
The crucis has problems with horde clear, so I bring mk3 boltgun for emergencies and othereise bring cleave solutioms (like AtO or Shock&Awe) to solve that.
The crucis TH build I gave as an example (or any IJ build really) has 0 problems spacing vs ragers. Elites die in 1 hit, and ragers are simple to dodge after baiting them into a combo.
If you need to save a teammate, just FotF into the ragers/elites to stagger them all. If they are purple (unstaggerable) this is not something you can solve by bringing stagger talents to begin with.
Again, my opinion. People in this thread cite issues with the thunderhammer — not enough horde clear, not enough damage, not enough mobility/self stun is game losing — and theres (at least partial) solutions to all of these problems via build choices.
Back to the topic at hand: the weapon definitely needs some QoL changes. But the premise of “I mainly use stealth thammer, and I think the weapon is bad” is somewhat of a self-inflicted problem. These players should pick a better build that doesn’t require them to intricately understand how to cope with the double-whammy combo of playing with a high-cooldown ability AND the slowest weapon in the kit.
Ackshually, punishment makes you uninterruptable, making it one of the most consistent options for you to rezz into anything, but since we talking about a zealot, that’s still not much to go by.
100% agree, we just have a different weighting system.
Back on topic, I would happily trade some activated bonking power, for a more consistent performance across the board without. But that would just turn it into another evis really. Pleasing everyone is an impossible task.
Oh, I misunderstood then. Didnt remember what punishment even was. I always take TWBS which functionally does a similar (same??) thing aside from res. But ressing is so fast anyeay on zealot.
Used to be 3, is 2 now. It’s pretty darn good, especially paired with.
Elevates your staying power considerably on some melees, thunder hammer being one of em. Evis3 being the other I know about, lights ragdolling dreg ragers with.
As we know since a while, stagger also reduces enemy hitmass, acting as a ghetto cleave at the expense of WS%.
Now whether the 20% node worth giving up for, is another questions, depends on the comp I’d say.
Yes actually those talents are part of the “piety + fotf” build I was alluding to earlier. You can lightspam (never charge the hammer, ever, except vs crushers and bosses) with the weakspot stagger talent. Ive won several h40 with this topping damage but its definitely not a beginner oriented build. So I get what you are saying now.
The build is quite funny (a bit of a meme) but very janky. The premise is that the crit ADM on all crucis thammer heavy attacks are terrible but the light attack ADM is quite good. People forget about the light attacks a lot on this weapon.
I also completely forgot punishment has an uninterruptible clause in it. Because of TWBS. It feels so irrelevant to have both but not a net negative to have I guess.
yeah if you run both you only get the upshot of stagger, and the weakspot stagger is generally superior because human weapons have more weakspot stagger than anything else and it’s a bigger number.
Technically speaking, the uninterruptable part is better for rezzes only, TWBS is far more consistent.
BUT, you can argue freeing up TWBS with as well. It just would be a weak one.
I think its more pressing for mobility and survival, having the stun immune/uninterruptile is just a bonus you can make good on for revives/interrogations as well. You get shot and speed up, very helpful for weapons that slow you down. If thunderhammer had better push attacks I’d like to run that one with no heavy slowdown…unfortunately both thunderhammers have sharty push attacks.
Don’t have to sell my thy, I won’t ever be seen without.
Those days are over, the older you get the lazier.
I don’t believe that these buffs are enough on their own in Auric. And even if they were, keeping 20 stacks of IJ isn’t exactly reliable, especially in the thick of combat. Only at the very start of combat, maybe.
Because the whole point of the thunder hammer is that it’s supposed to be able to do this. It gives up a lot of mobility, safety, attack speed, and general utility in order to fill this niche. If it can’t, and needs to rely on abilities anyway, then there’s not much point in using the weapon at all. It’s failing in its intended niche because it has been power crept.
This is true, but I would argue that most other weapons don’t (and shouldn’t) require a whole build just to compensate for their weaknesses or to enable them to do their intended job. Why should the thunder hammer require all of this? I’m not arguing that it shouldn’t have any weaknesses - I’m arguing that its weaknesses should at least be a fair trade-off for its strengths, which I don’t believe is the case right now. Ideally it should just be better at taking out more powerful enemies in 1 headshot with the proper perks and blessings. If the devs believe that it should not be able to do this, THEN it should get better horde clear/cleave/stagger/mobility etc…
I’ve never used stealth with thunder hammer. The very concept is abhorrent to me. That was not the point of my original post.
I kind of get the sense that the thunder hammer has been left in the dust by power creep and more popular weapons, and the devs have mostly forgotten about it. I was surprised they even increased the maniac damage.
