This Game NEEDS Solo and Private mode

People with UI mods that showed the exact numerical value of party member health were reporting that the Veteran bots had massively increased Health.

This guy saw that his Veteran bot had 240 Health.

And please @FatsharkCatfish if anything about solo is discussed in the dev circle: make it like the console an offline solo mode.

I live in Germany which despite all her GDP is developing country concerning it’s digital infrastructure. Today I and many other Germans have no internet except for mobile LTE which is unsuited for gaming due to data limitations.

Vermintide 2 had a fun solo mode but only on consoles it was offline - why? If I don’t intend to multiplayer (or just can‘t like right now) I should not be forced to be online…,

It’s now been 6 months since solo play was originally promised. I’m at the point where I would happily just grind out Sedition maps over and over again with the base game bots if it meant I could play entirely solo. Yeah better bots and such would be nice, but just getting a solo mode into the game first and foremost would do wonders, bot improvements coming later would just be an added bonus.

I will buy the game when solo/private game modes becomes an option.
I have read the forums since launch and are still waiting for some solo love before buying.
Fingers crossed!

I don’t get it; why solo? What do you mean by solo? I can’t wrap my head around the idea of a 4 player co-op PvE being solo.
If you mean better bots, forget it, won’t happen.
If you mean no bots and no human players, forget it, won’t happen.

The ability to play with 3 bots - like most 4 player pve games offer. Among them being Vermintide 1 & 2.

There are many reasons:
Wanting to be able to play the mission at your own pacing
Wanting to fully explore the maps
Wanting to goof around without pissing others off
Wanting to play offline when internet says good buy
Wanting to concentrate on immersion rather then chellange or cooperation
Wanting to play the game without everyone running of in different directions…
And many more

Already happened - the bots on higher difficulties were signifacantly buffed. Vermintide allowed to use your spare characters as bots - this would be optimal for DT as well.

Solo mode (no human players, just bots) was promised at launch so it better happens…

Technically mods allowing this game mode already exists for VT2 and Darktide. But its not the point of this post.

Localhosted Solo mode was officially announced for Darktide 10 days before launch to be delivered by the end of December 2022.

Doesn’t matter if you think it won’t happen. Fatshark marketed and sold the game on that marketing. It has to happen.

What I’m hearing is you can just play Vermintide :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Fundamentally, solo mode ruins it for others who want to play with humans, as it reduces the playerbase. Perhaps if ‘the community’ hadn’t tanked Steam reviews, we’d have a larger player base and who knows, solo mode too.

agreed solo mode is badly needed

If Vermintide 2 can not only survive, but thrive with Solo mode, I’m sure that Darktide can too.

But this is a moot point. The feature was announced and marketed, so it needs to be delivered.

I don’t know about the other’s, but I can testify that my negative Steam review wouldn’t be there if Solo mode had been delivered as advertised.

I bought the game BECAUSE solo mode was advertised before release. I’ve enjoyed it, but I’m definitely frustrated that a feature explicitly promised over 6 months ago has yet to be included.

Awful reason for a negative review. I think you may have yourself to blame tbh.

I’ve been playing with the solo mod and after having a taste I NEED this option more than ever (with progression more importantly) makes me wanna go back to vermintide 2 where I can goof around on legend with my team of bots all dressed up and outfitted with red items

False advertising and broken promises are aweful reasons to leave a bad review? Even if that what hasn’t been delivered as promised was the one thing you were looking forward to the most? I can imagine few better reasons to deliver a negative review to be honest.

And no it’s not the players fault that Fatshark lied.

I mean its a feature they explicitly stated that, before launch, would be part of the game by december at the latest. Its now the July following that December and its been months since they even mentioned solo mode, and we have no idea when it could possibly drop, or even if its ever actually happening.

If a game developer explicitly states a feature is coming, when to expect said feature, and then misses that timeline and refuses to acknowledge a new timeline for the feature, I feel like that’s a justifiable case for leaving a negative review.

I get you as an individual don’t like or want solo mode, but they still promised a feature by december, failed to deliver, then failed to acknowledge or follow up on that at all. That’s a bad look no matter your opinion on the feature itself.

I disagree.

So, the new devblog just dropped. Still no mention of Solo mode.

We’re heading into the 9th month since launch now, and Solo mode is officially overdue by 8 months.

I can’t even remember if they’ve even mentioned solo mode at all since launch, which is utterly frustrating because its one of the only explicitly promised features that had a date attached, and now they won’t even acknowledge it existed.

Worst part is that they can’t even act like its a performance issue like they used to, because there’s mods that make solo mode completely playable for everything except progression, and it runs just as well if not better than the regular game.

There’s objectively 0 reason we can’t have solo mode in, beyond them just choosing not to.

They’ve mentioned it twice.

Once in the Steam forum in late February.

Once in the Fatshark forum in early March.

Both essentially say the same thing; that they’re still working on it and have no news. Indirectly admitting that it was no where near ready when they’d first announced it.

I really wish there‘ll be a life sign soon…
