Hello. I am sure someone has been here to complain about this skin in the past, but I am one of the people who purchased The Bolt Pistol Skin With The Candle On It because it had the candle on it. I used the candle flame to aim with, and I understand why the flame was removed. I’d like to petition the candle flame be restored, and I’d like to propose a compromise.
If it’s feasible, would it be in the cards to give players who purchased this cosmetic a second variant of it with the candle flame enabled? I did purchase it in part because it had the candle flame on it, and I know some of the people I play with did the same, so it’s a bit of a disappointment that it’s just gone. I know there isn’t any kind of system in place to toggle a cosmetic skin’s subfeatures, so I thought that a second skin might let people who bought the bolt pistol for the candle enjoy their candle aiming without impacting those who prefer the candle to be extinguished. It really was the reason we put money down on the thing in the first place.
On a similar topic, I picked up the one Helbore Lasgun skin with all the purity seals on it, only to find that its front sight had a weird metal box around it. I didn’t know this box was there from the weapon preview, and I do actually feel like this box obstructs the area around my front sight that I would be making small aim adjustments into, and I wish it was not there. Kind of the opposite problem of the candle! If there was a variant that did not have this obstructive frame, similar to a variant of the bolt pistol where the candle was lit, I would be quite happy. Presently I still use the candle pistol, but I don’t use the Helbore one and regret buying it a little bit. I understand that “just give users a second copy of the skins they bought” can be a tall ask, but they are cash shop skins, so I don’t think they would really be “a free skin” so much as just a way to account for them being obstructive or preferable to actually use in-game.
Thanks for your time, and thank you for making a very fun game. Little details like this are about the most I have to complain about, which I think speaks to the quality of what you’ve built.
