I did not say that it would not help.
I said that it would not solve the issue overall.
To be fair, yes. For some blessings it would have helped.
But it still would have heavily relied on RNG and was an inferior option to having the ability to just buy the exact blessing that you want.
I’m being a realist. I don’t know how ingrained those systems are or how much work would have to be done. Summer Break is coming up like an Executioner’s Axe and I am hoping that an easy to implement change is made to crafting before then. If nothing happens before then I’m done with Darktide and this forum unfortunately.
No I’m not trying to say it would be a cure all either. I’ve just had the game refuse to give me above t2 of a blessing through consecration often enough that I would have certainly appreciated it. Still would for a few things.
Implementing an alternate economy to the crafting system doesn’t sound more simple than just removing the locks.
Also, I guarantee you that if you if there was some convoluted resource trading system for managing locks, there would be more people trying to give opinions and input on how to balance and change things, but if the locks were removed everybody would just be happy with it. If they’re going to introduce more complexity into it, they may as well just change the whole thing into a different system. And, again, if they go that route then the athanor is a good system that they already made that they can just translate over here.
