I dunno it has a giant alert before it appears, and the damage is extremely not-punishing for the player if you choose to tank it (I got hit by a bolt for like 50 toughness damage as zealot, but good balance might have been active). Blight is also focusing on making actual objective play difficult instead of tedious. I like these modifiers a lot more so far.
One of Rejectās little helpers:
I only did one run, so Iām sure I could adjust.
But the nice big alert (think meteor showers in Helldivers 2) doesnāt help when itās behind you since there isnāt much if any noise. And you canāt see the visual alert when climbing a ladder.
Just a series of unfortunate events (read: skill issue).
I had no idea what it was and kept running into it thinking it was something to collect ![]()
These modifiers, so far, seems better than the houndsā¦but still the never ending pepper spray from 360 degrees from gunners, reapers and shotgunners isnāt any fun. There isnāt any cover and truly relentless ranged attacks. Itās just not fun to be constantly shot from all angles at the same time forever.
So zealot perfectionist talent is still bugged?
This is cheating
Starting later today, the existing nodes have been wiped and replaced with a new set of unique nodes
Oh ⦠Great ⦠So this means all my progress is gone, then.
I must have missed when Fatshark announced that this was going to be the norm for Expeditions. I was looking forward to reaching a few of the later nodes, in my own time, then mostly sticking to them whenever I felt like poking at the game mode. Now that I know itās going to be a never-ending grind - and one with minimal rewards ⦠I donāt know. Why not have all the nodes unlocked by default at this point? If the point was to keep the game mode fresh by constantly rotating modifiers, why bother making you unlock them all more than once? Constantly grinding, then the progress getting wiped, only to grind for it again feels ⦠sisyphusian.
I may be in the minority here, but I think Iām going to stick to the regular game mode. At least there, once I level and gear a character to the point where they can do Auric missions, the progress stays - and I wonāt have to unlock all the maps again in a month.
The unlocking grid is way more streamlined and a lot of numbers are lower. Alpha isnāt even a tutorial level anymore and you can easily unlock beta and gamma in your first run. And then the grids after those are pretty simple to get in one game again too, so I had 5 points open in 3 games. First version of the board was way more tedious to unlock, but there was no community milestone. Weāre like 20% in a day.
Also for gunners and reapers, it looks like this grid refresh has the call in gunship appear more commonly, so buy it whenever you can. Iām pretty sure its still broken and doesnāt work on night zones, but at least in the daytime most all of the gun enemies fire at it instead and it canāt die or be hurt.
The voltaic storms indicator can also be on the ground floor of a building so that you canāt see it and then of course you get hit by it. Really kind of dumb that they canāt make simple things like this work properly when itās just the lightning from vt2 chaos waste and it worked fine there.
yes, and it will remain so for at least another ~6 months if weāre lucky
So what Iām getting is: your solution to ānothing to spend tech scrap onā is āwipe your progress every monthā?
⦠WHY?
You have a genuinely solid gameplay loop. Clean up optimization, fix bugs, and stop trying to manipulate people into playing the game when the game is worth playing for its own sake!
Preach the truth of the holy god emperor!
FatShark ātry not to alienate your core playerbase who will pretty much always be loyal due to the gameplay aloneā Challenge, Difficulty: Impossible

This is the part I donāt get.
Where is the reason to play? Penances are one and done. Modifiers are the extra grist in the mill, not enough to entice on their own.
You would think basic game design would follow with āokay hereās the big chunky reward specific to this game modeā but thereāsā¦nothing. Even the experience is actually fairly abysmal in comparison to the same time playing normal missions.
Same as Mortis Trials - what incentive do you have for players to play this game mode specifically. It sure as hell isnāt new stuff being unveiled, it takes months for Fatshark to actually do anything or add new particle effects let alone updating the maps and areas, so you need a mechanical, meaningful reward to give them, and youāre failing at it despite creating yet another ānumber go upā currency.
Are you American? Why do you eat as if you have public healthcare?
Nah Iām Swedish and I donāt actually eat literal garbage lol itās just a nasty picture I found with google

thatās literal rashuns
Is this what they call āfikaā?

Expeditions has one of the least rewarding and least incentivized gameplay loops. Itās got potential, but it severely needs more time in the oven.
