I would argue that the present system, with specific weapons being over-tuned IS the problem which leads to boredom for those who just HAVE to use what is the best. This would be a far smaller problem if other options were more competitive.
âMetaâ is a result of poorly balanced weapons and their properties. If all weapons closer in terms of their performance and crafting wasnât as restrictive, then everyone would have variety of options to choose from.
Better how? I mean, comared to V2 they only have a fraction of classes available, and itâs definitely harder to kill a build if you canât make the build in the first placeâŚ
I have mixed feelings about V2 re-works.
Killing Wigglemancer was probably for the best, even if it was a fun build to play.
I generally agree with you on the halberd nerf.
I feel like the largest change was when they went from dodgemania to stagger nation (WoM?). I still havenât made my mind up about that re-work or how it was handled, but generally speaking WoM killed the game for sooo many dedicated players.
Iâm with you in that boat except I havenât touched the game since early January. I did log in once when they released crafting in full, started sifting through my inventories to see what I could do with my âarsenalâ, and decided I didnât want to play an inventory management game.
If they stick to their guns Iâll simply uninstall the game and until then Iâll avoid playing in order to not get burned out. The change for me would be from visiting the forum and following the development to just letting it go.
Didnât you hear, they just forgot to add the âEarly Accessâ to the game. Itâs obviously not a full release
I am the cusp of just dropping the game right now, my enjoyment of the game play has cooled to a point where its not really overshadowing the frustration of having to deal with the different RNG systems and the grind anymore.
A couple of days ago i was trying to experiment with different ways to get the Vraks MK3 HH to feel good again after the crucian nerf, but after bricking the few high stat weapons i had stockpiled and was left with nothing besides a waste of materials and time as usual, i kinda dont want to deal with the system or the game itself anymore.
Kinda tangential I know but falter + no respite sounds like a safe bet to me. Surgical also seems like it might be a decent thing to have now, though probably more for Vet who can more reasonably kill a target in a single burst.
This is an easy fix.
There is actually a mod for that.
It will display something beta something in your game.
(Not even kidding. This mod actually exists.)
I donât think they will go away any time soon, but of course I also donât know.
What I am certain of is that we will eventually get the ability to break the 80 point barrier in traits and get probably a red item tier that also puts all the perks and blessings at the highest level. Thatâs how it was in VT2 and it makes sense design wise.
So the grind will get better, but maybe you wonât be able to customize 100% of the item. Maybe?
That said, the grind is a lot less now than it was previously. I played the last weekend for hours every day and was able to get a good chunk of Blessings and 4 weapons that are Damnation ready (+350 rating, good stat allocation, decent perks, has one or two of the meta Blessings for the weapon type at current).
Better in that no playstyle was entirely killed or changed yet.
Flamer is still usable, Powersword is no definitely more unwieldy, but also usable.
Some of the weaker items were actually brought up and made viable. That happened rarely in the Tide games. There the power curve was most things starting out strong and then getting the nerfbat one after another.
And I didnât experience the WoM update, I was burnt out before than and only came back after the update that came after Winds of Magic. Was it Bogenhafen? I think it was.
Itâs a pretty silly joke mod, but it also adds the current game version to the upper left corner.
Yeah but that isnât the current situation at all. Nothing gets bricked down with nerfs. I can only think of the Accatran Lasguns as terrible now but theyâve always been terrible and were carried by a single blessing. They need an actual rebalance and not to rely on DoT access.
Between the Psword, Flamer, and Unintended Soulblaze nerfs this last patch hit 3/4 of my characters pretty hard, thats hundreds of hours of grind invalidated overnight. Its infuriating and I wonât put anymore time into this game.
Listening to you guys itâs like suddenly weapons are nerfed beyond repair, when in fact at most they were brought in line with the general power curve
Itâs healthy
Deal with it, this drama is ridiculous just like some fellow Psyker players complaining Deflector should have stayed baseline
Now weâll get weeks of QQ flooding the forums when people should be preoccupied by things like terrible servers, low intensity spam, and 75% of the blessings being useless instead
You are complaining about the people that are complaining about the newest round of nerfs in a thread that was made before the nerfs dropped.
The purpose of this thread is to discuss how bad the RNG is and how restrictive the blessing/perk locks are and how it affects experimenting with different builds while also turning both weapon buffs and nerfs into a tedious extension of the current grind.
So yeah, still missing the point⌠or trolling.
If these are the issues you personally feel should be discussed, then i suggest making your own thread about it or comment on the other threads that discuss similar topics to bump them up.
Or, you can keep commenting here, i appreciate that you bump this thread, keeps it nice and visible.
Totally agree with OP. Locks should just be removed outright at this point, just make it very expensive to compensate. Would be a good place to sink diamantine since everyone and their mother has a ridiculous surplus of it these days.
If weapon balance was already in a good place it wouldnât be such a big issue. But they canât have their cake and eat it too by artificially extending the loot grind while simultaneously making broad sweeping balance changes.
Potentially, but even if they did at least it would be deterministic grind and you get something for the time and energy you put in, instead of feeling robbed watching all your resources you grinded for turn into 0 worth. With curios the odds of rolling what you want are so astronomically low it would easily take thousands of hours to get one you want. So it would have to be a LOT of diamonds to make it even a comparable grind.
