Lets talk about Warp Echos (Lore Dive)

It actually does. The Astra Militarum heavily specialises its regiments so they are forced to rely on other regiments for reinforcements and support. Why? It’s for the same reason the Codex Astartes split up the original 9 Loyalist Astartes Chapters.

If Astra Militarum regiments WEREN’T heavily specialised, it’d be a lot more viable for them to do what you’re saying… but they MUST be heavily specialized to prevent a huge, cohesive military force that might turn traitor from striking back HARD at the Imperium. If a specialised regiment turns traitor, it’s not really a big deal compared to a generalised regiment.

The Moebian 6th, for example, aren’t exactly famed for their tank drivers despite the Moebian Domain being famed for its superb Leman Russes.

What I meant was more like mixing a scout regiment with a heavy infantry regiment purely on a numerical basis … fighting doctrins differ that much, it will be a rough time for the new regiment to find its new “style”.

i mean, they’re cityfighters with a focus on cracking fortifications judging on their gear, they likely don’t have much use for the leman russ. it’d explain why all we see are demolisher, they’re the only ones atoman regiments want.

Yes, that’s exactly the point. Astra Militarum regiments are heavily specialised for individually niche purposes so they have to rely on each other.

The majority of regiments raised are for campaigns off-planet. If they are very, very lucky, regiments can return to their homeworld for R&R but most of them will never see their homeworld ever again.

First line planetary defence is almost entirely PDF, with additional regiments being brought in only if they need reinforcements or they are fortifying against a big incoming attack.

It’s a little different depending on the planet type. Fortress Worlds has the entire population be reserves if not PDF. Forge worlds would have a few legions of Skitarii and other Admech force on planet.

Again, the 6th haven’t done that. They’ve kept their men in rotation, it’s part of the reason why the Loyalists were massacred so efficiently when their brothers came back shooting at them… the Loyalists we’ve heard from weren’t sent to Nox Alpha.

Seriously, I dunno what the big deal is about such a simple fact.

Ok, so If I’m understanding this correctly, Captain Helmag was relying on Wolfer “too much” which allowed for the seeds of heresy to take over. Wolfer betrayed Captain Helmag and Commissar Magsen on Nox Alpha which is the planet the Moebian 6 went to (why did they go?). Wolfer then took the Traitors back to their home world of Atoma to take it over knowing the PDF was ill equipped to defend against such a threat. This plot is all for the Tank production to be supplied to Chaos?

The Warp Echos are just whispers of the damned.

Also, Happy bday! @Khorne_Dawg
