Item Currency Refunds Nerfed

Since at least the hotfix, maybe the big update, discarding orange weapons no longer refunds anything but ordo dockets.

Was this a deliberate change?

While it may not hurt those of us with post-scarcity levels of currency, it is not a player friendly decision at all (and yet another unlisted change, to my knowledge).

It also removes the ability to convert melk bucks to useful resources.

I used the refund and melk conversion quite a bit when I was leveling up, mastering items, and completing builds. Now new players are not afforded these options.

This just seems like a needless change (and hopefully a bug).

I’m going to complain about this while we are at it

I will probably never fix this bottleneck
why do we even have 2 separate currencies if they serve more or less the same purpose?

ok? didn’t catch that. well, what else to do with my 500k melk bucks.

keep rolling for 430s i guess

Yeah, the diamantine refunds were the biggest boons of this system when I was new. Really sucks.

It doesn’t help that vets often outright skip resources on top of new players not learning to loot.

follow up: i just sold a random orange transcendent pickaxe. got dockets, plasteel and diamantine for it. didn’t make a screenshot but i have plenty of stuff to sell.
the only case where i got only dockets was selling a transcendent curio.

Hmm, the curio only giving docket was always the case to my knowledge.

I suppose it could be a visual bug not showing the other currencies when I sell. I’ll be sure to closely test tonight.

Ok, can confirm its a visual bug. Tested on Arbites, Ogryn, and Vet with melee and ranged melk aquisitions and a hadron forged. I only see the ordos notification but other currencies do increase.

I have way too much money. I think rejects should be paying taxes, and for food and board. Protein gruel and space in an air-duct next to a plasma reactor doesn’t come free, you know.

I think the amount might be reduced but I’m not certain

It did seem pretty small in these tests, but I don’t have any old amounts to say for sure.

I feel like it used to be ~100-200 diamantine since that’s what I paid most attention to back then.

That’s my impression as well, but I don’t have a before and after record to check for sure.
